Soke Amos Hunter of ASCMA

1972 while in the U.S. Air Force, Soke Hunter started training in Shorin Ryu Karate. In 1976, he was transferred to Osan Air Base Korea where he began studying Shaolin Kung Fu and Do Hap Sul. After approximately one year he was transferred to Taegu City, Korea and began studying Oh Do Kwan Tae Kwan Do. In 1979, the Central Oh Do Kwan and the World Tae Kwan Do Federation awarded him his Cho (1st Dan).

In 1980, he was transferred to George AFB in Southern California where he trained with various instructors in Tae Kwan Do and Tang Soo Do. In 1982 he was transferred to Misawa AB Japan, there he was the assistant instructor in a Tae Kwan Do class held on base. At that time he also began studying Aikido in order to round out his fighting skills. Soke Hunter was awarded his Shodan in 1985. After returning to the United States, he started teaching Aikido at Dyess AFB under the supervision of Sensei Ed Francis.

In 1995, Soke Hunter joined Juko Kai International and cross-trained in jujutsu, kenpo-jutsu and judo. At the time he left Juko Kai, he had been ranked as a 5th Dan in Aikido, 3rd Dan in Karate, 4th Dan in Jujutsu and held a Menkyo Shihan-Dai in Kenpo Jutsu.

After leaving Juko Kai, Soke Hunter applied for membership in the Intenational Society of Combat Martial Arts, which was under the leadership of Soke Billy Miller. Soke Miller was also on the board of the International Soke Head Founders Society and he recommended Soke Hunter for his Soke Status in Ryo-Shi Ryu Bujutsu. This was approved at the rank of 10th Dan and was also recogized by the International Society of Combat Martial Artists and the United Sokeship Alliance.

Soke Hunter developed a personnal art based on his Korean training, Oh Do Mu Sul. The Combat Martial Arts Practitoners Association has recognized this art. It is based on Tae Kwan Do, Aikido, and Jujutsu. He is currently instructing a small number of personal students in this highly combative art. Soke Hunter, a member of "Hock" Hochheim's Scientific Fighting Congress had the opportunity to receive personal instruction in knife combative from Hock. Soke Hunter is a certified instructor in both hand to hand combat and knife/counter knife combative through the Scientific Fighting Congress.

Soke Hunter was inducted into the World Wide Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Grandmaster of the Year in June 2,000. On November 11, 2000 Soke Hunter was officially appointed as advisor to the Karate-Jutsu and Kobudo Federation. He is currently an active member of: International Society of Combat Martial Arts, Scientific Fighting Congress, and Combat Martial Arts Practitioners Association. He is also the Founder of American Society of Combat Martial Artists.

Shihan Ed Loomis of ASCMA

Shihan Ed Loomis a Paramedic and former Texas Corrections Officer, has studied martial arts for over twenty years. While in the Air Force he studied
various martial arts including Tang Soo Do, Kuk Sool Won, and Judo. In 1990 Sensei Loomis was transferred to Dyess AFB Tx. While stationed in Abilene Tx., he began his studies in Aikido under Soke Amos Hunter.

During this time Shihan Loomis was awarded his 1st Dan in Aikido. In 1999 Sihan Loomis received his 2nd Dan in Aikido. In March 2001 Shihan Loomis recieved his Yondan (4th Dan) in Aiki-Jujutsu and was awarded his Menkyo Okuden in Ryo-shi Ryu Bujutsu. In May 2001 Shihan Loomis recieved his shodan in Goju-Shorei Weapon Systems. In August 2001, Shihan Loomis was inducted into the United States Martial Artist 2001 Hall of Fame. Shihan Loomis is a lifetime member of Combat Martial Art Practitioner Association, and a member of the United States Classical Judo Society.

Shihan Loomis is currently the National Director for Members Service for the American Society of Combat Martial Artists.

Shihan Loomis is Texas's first Goju Shorei Weapons System Black Belt Instructor and one of only a handful of Goju Shorei Cane Instructors in the state. He currently teaches Aiki-Jujutsu and Goju-Shorei in San Marcos Tx. Shihan Loomis travels to Abilene TX. to teach Aiki-JuJutsu and Goju-Shorei Cane fighting. His students include Texas Peace Officers, SWAT team members, Paramedics, School Teachers as well as students of all ages.
