In J.P. Coleman's book, he mentions there is a John Roe & wife Frances nearby in Lunenburg Co VA who sell land to a Tatum in 1751. I think J.P. means this as more of a warning not to confuse the 2 John ROEs who have different wives (Frances & Sarah) in about the same time period (1751 & 1754) but to note that later a daughter of Solomon Roe (son of John Roe of Halifax Co.) marries a Tatum in Pendleton Dist. SC where John Roe of Halifax Co. dies.

One might wonder if the John Roe of Lunenburg Co. might be the John Roe of Pendleton Co SC while the John Roe of Halifax County might be the John Roe of Fairfield Co SC, BUT:
1) The Bible record that gives the births of the same kids that are named in the will in Pendleton (Anderson) District, is in the pocession of the family of John's daughter Elizabeth (Mrs. Robt. Coleman) of Fairfield Co SC, so the lineage of who owns the Bible shows the Roes of Fairfield are the same Roes of Anderson County and
2) the will of John probabted in Pendleton/Anderson Co has the heading "Camden District" & reads "... 1778 ... I John Row late of the County of Craven". Fairfield & Chester Counties were cut from Camden District & Camden District was cut from Craven County. Anderson District was cut from 96 District which was not cut from Craven County. So neither Camden nor Craven overlap either Anderson nor Pendleton Districts, at all. So the will shows John Roe of Camden (Fairfield) District is the same man as John Roe of Pendleton (Anderson) District.

This Tatum connection makes me think we should look closely at John Roe & Frances of Lunenburg Co VA & see if we can find his parents, relatives, since our John of Halifax Co NC may be the same man or may be a cousin or son of John of Lunenburg. We should also look for where John of Lunenburg went to & what children he had to make sure he is not the same man as our John of Halifax, Fairfield, & Anderson Counties.
