Dear James Green, I have written to Gail Manac on a couple of occasions--my father knew his cousins the Stewarts when we lived in Homerville when i was in high school. I have tried to find out more about Ellen Roberts and her father John. My father knew Green Roberts and i heard of a son of him who lived in Nichols, Georgia but i dont know him. Ive finally found the probate papers for Christopher Hargraves in Coffee county that confirms that he died in 1875.Ellen filed for a widows years support that year before she married Hardy Summerlin --she is buried with about the largest tombstone in Antioch Cemetery out of Kirkland --she died in 1898--i believe that Huxford confused Christoper and Ellen for Sidney and Mary --other son of Abraham. Sidney died in 1906--not Christopher. Poor Christopher lies with his children at the foot of Rhoda's grave in unmarked graves. Sorry i get started talking on this and get carried away. I have been unable to go to any of the Hargraves reunions, but i read of you there.
I am finally glad to know you . |
