I've learned I'm not near as smart
as I once thought I was.
I've learned about being alone and
I've learned about being lonely.
I've learned about as much about those two words
As I've Needed to,
but Alot more about them than I've wanted to.
I've learned you can hold a diamond
in your hand and watch it sparkle Forever-
I've learned this while watching the fakes
crumble to dust and run through my fingers.
I learned about missing people, places and things
that once were,
I've only tried to learn to miss them painlessly.
I've learned about missing my family-
but only after some of them aren't there anymore
to miss.
I've learned alot about the order of things,
but only after working so hard at finding it again.
I've learned about commitment and trust-
but only after having them once
and not being able to find them again.
After all these lessons,
I've learned how wrong I can be,
and how sorry I am for it.
