I can remember when I use to sit peacefully outside my oak home, smoking my pipe and waiting for the potatoes in my stew to soften up. When I would have the need to enter the nearest town, most humans would smile cordially, or perhaps just pay me no mind. Elves and dwarves might nod their greeting out of commonality based on our respective outsider ways. These days, however, things have changed. Like many others of our Halfling brethren (also known as Hobbits), I have been persecuted of late for my stature and gentle ways. This league has been formed to protect us from slanderous remarks from the outside world, and prejudicial stereotyping by humans, dwarves, and elves. Those whom we call friends, we thank. Others have held us back in today's world, and we won't tolerate it any longer. We will stand up for ourselves by campaigning for adventure reform. No longer will we be exluded from quests due to the prejudices of other races. No longer will we idly be abused both verbally and physically (especially by those Trolls). Within this forum, we seek to right the wrongs done to our ancestors by Bigger people. |
