MUNKUSTRAP

Here is my interpretation of Munkustrap's character. Where I have said who he is related to, this is only my ideas and not official, except for that Munkustrap, Rum Tum Tugger and Macavity are brothers, this is what the actors were told when they had to interpret their characters.

Although Old Deuteronomy is the official Leader of the Jellicles, Munkustrap is like an 'active leader', he is the one who leads them in everyday life. Munkustrap is protective and courageous, he is always the last to leave when there is a Macavity scare and he will always try to protect all the Cats in the Tribe, especially the kittens. He fights Macavity to keep him away from Demeter, his mate, and to try and save the others. The Jellicles respect and love him and he is a good leader for them. Munkustrap is an excellent singer and strong dancer, he takes the spotlight easily in a calm way, without having to make a song-and-dance about it like some of the others do!

Munkustrap is a silver tabby, black and silver stripes. He is very tall for a Jellicle, the tallest of all the male Cats. He has grey wool tufts on the back of his gloves, which is very cute!

Munkustrap Requirements

Strong high Baritone with good dramatic range of timbre between gentle crooning and strong declamation, comfortable to G, emphasis on voice but must also be a good dancer
