Alonzo likes to be in the spotlight! He is cheerful and has a competitive nature, particularly with the other young males, like Mistoffelees and Tumblebrutus. Alonzo is also a strong fighter and is very loyal to Munkustrap. Probably, Alonzo is like second-in-command to Munku. He helps Munkustrap save Demeter when Macavity tries to carry her off, and he also has a good go at fighting him after Munku gets knocked down. He is quite flirty and although he usually is seen with Cassandra, he is with Jemima during a few songs, and dances with Etcetera in the Jellicle Ball. He also tries to get Bombalurina to dance with him in the young-male-show-off part of the Ball! In many stage productions, Jemima is his mate, but in the movie it seems to be Cassandra, although none of the mate relationships are very strict in the movie!
Alonzo is black and white patched. He has a little patch down one side of his mouth, which is really cute! He doesn't have any other colour except black and white, and he is quite proud of this, repeating the line "Jellicle Cats are black and white!" throughout the chant of the Jellicle Ball.
Alonzo Requirements:
Tall, very strong dancer with classical ballet training, ensemble baritone.
