Banquo Duncan Macbeth Macduff Malcom Three Apparitions


Banquo : A close friend of Macbeth. Thane of Lochaber. Banquo receives a prophesy from the witches that his ancestors will be kings. He is also a commander of Duncan's army.

Duncan : King of Scotland and loved by all. He crowns Macbeth Thane of Cawdor then later gets murdered by Macbeth.

Macbeth : Main character. Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, then King of Scotland. He receives a prophesy from the three witches that he is to be "king hereafter". He then devises a plan to kill the king in efforts to gain the crown himself.

Macduff : The Thane of Fife. He goes to England to fetch back Malcom to be King. In the last battle he slays Macbeth.

Malcom : Duncan's Eldest son and Prince of Cumberland. He flees to England after the murder of Duncan. Only to be brought back again when Macduff finds him in England and plots an attack against Macbeth.

Three Apparitions : Called by the witches and furthers the witches prophesies. All prophesies made are true, yet contradicting ("false face must hide what doth heart must know")
An armed head - Cautions Macbeth about Macduff, the Thane of Fife.
A crowned child - Further reasures Macbeth by saying Macbeth shall safe as long as Great Birnam Wood moves to Dunsinane Hill.
Along with eight non-speaking future kings - called by the witches after Macbeth threatens to place a curse on the witches. All the eight following kings resemble the face of Banquo.
