CRUSH was formed in LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, U.S.A. in 1998. CRUSH released their first cd in may of 1998. It was a five song demo cd. It was met with great praise by both fans and critics alike. This demo received heavy rotation on the localradio station's "unsigned primetime" show. And was regularly requested. In fact CRUSH was voted top five most requested bands on the show!! Without ever playing a show as a band, Crush was chosen from sixty local bands in the Louisville area to be a top five finalist for the "kickstart your career" contest. The winner of the contest would get to open for MOTLEY CRUE at their concert in louisville, and possibly secure a recording contract through NIKKI SIXX"S new record label. CRUSH placed second. although let down, second place isn't too shabby for a six month old band that had never played out! In december of 1998 CRUSH headed into the studio again to record five new songs. These five combined with the five song demo would become CRUSH's full length debut cd. Entitled; "DON'T BE AFRAID OF ROCK-N-ROLL!" This cd was also met with rave reviews. MARK BRICKEY from Initial Records had this to say about CRUSH; "Those guys are so rock-n-roll....it's amazing!" The cd was released in April of 1999. It was around this time that the CRUSH website was up and running. It is a major part of the bands ongoing quest to recruit new fans and stay in touch with old ones. In true rock-n-roll d.y.i. (do it yourself) fashion the website (and cd's, inlays, stickers, t-shirts, press kits, etc. etc.) was done totally by the band. The CRUSH website contains audio samples of all the songs on the cd, pictures of the band, cd ordering information, and a place for fans (and CRUSH haters for that matter) to e-mail the band. As a direct result of CRUSH's music and the website CRUSH was asked to join several touring bands on their tours. The buzz and popularity of CRUSH continues to grow, and although they are a fairly new band, it's not likely that they'll be leaving any time soon. CRUSH's rock-n-roll disease is spreading, don't be afraid.......catch it before it passes you by!
