In The Beginning.... When the late Reverend Anderson originally had the vision of Outreach, back in the early 1980's, many did not think it would expand to what it is today. Originally the youngsters from the different churches in Withernsea met in homes, under the leadership of Beryl Newdick, but soon decided to raise funds for a purpose built youth hall. This became a reality in 1988, when a one storey youth hall was completed onto the back of the United Reformed Church. A minibus was soon purchased to transport the youngsters from Withernsea, Winestead and Patrington Haven to and from Outreach. |

.......And Then As the expansion continued, we saw the need to expand our facilities further and started raising funds towards a second floor on the present youth hall. Through a tremendous amount of hard work and determination, 30,000 Pounds was raised from fund raising, grants, donations and an anonymous donation of 18,000 Pounds. The second floor was completed in 1999, and is now extensively used. Due to the unreliability of the old minibus, a new fundraising campaign raised the necessary funds for a modern minibus to be used every Outreach night! God is really blessing us! |
