Financial- Reported we used $60 for the carne asada sale.

$210 profit made from sale. Approximately $390.00 in account.

Wondered if we are donating $ to Wal Mart. Internal suggested we prepare

a report and email it to them. Monica formerly of Rio Hondo contacted

financial to inquire about funds for TV taping owed to that school.

The Columbian festival funds are not in yet because they owe money to the

equastrian center. Shakey's fundraiser funds are also not in yet.

Mt SAC inquired if we can show up to Shakey's to get the money.

Internal report- A walk out is being organized for Dec. 12 and is MeCha going

to be involved in this event?  (This is later discussed in great detail under

new business)

Regarding the grant and future efforts to fundraise: Cal Poly suggested we hit up

local businesses in the community. This way businesses

will see the MeCha name and will want to donate $. We're meeting at Epiphany

church in Los Angeles to get the process started.

Old business-Cal MeCa. The written proposal was diseminated. Feedback was sought

from all the chapters. By January an orientation with all the new students

is needed. Cal Poly to talk to academic affairs at their campus about this

and will talk to the school president if need be, to get a list of incoming

students. Letters need to be mailed out.

El Monte High wanted clarification or directions on how to implement the

program at their campus, all chapters are to bring in a list of incoming

students by next meeting.

Cal Pulli- Discussion regarding teaching ESL classes and literacy. Cal Poly

will try to schedule fundraisers to raise $ to pay for the place Sergio

suggested in El Monte. The cost is estimated at $500. Internal officer

suggested to hold off for a month so we can work on the logistics of this.

A target date for January was set to appoint a person on the administrative

level.

Member's application and yahoo group- further discussion about opening up

the yahoo group to all members not just the Mesa. Motion passed by Mt. SAC to

create a membership application for the Central and a database with contact

information. El Monte seconds.

Toys & clothes drive- the deadline was extended to Wed. Dec. 10, donations of

clothes and toys will go to the farm workers' families.

New Business- U.Y.A. Conference. Help is needed to plan the conference. There

will be a planning meeting on Jan.6 @8 PM @ Cal Poly to discuss the details.

Help is needed with food, buses, rooms, and high school outreach. Cal Poly

will report on program and buses, Mt. SAC will report on H.S. outreach.

Advisor's dinner- A formal dinner to get the advisors in the area involved in

community outreach. Cal Poly suggested we table it until after the U.Y.A. conference.

Dinner is tentatively scheduled for 2nd or 3rd week of March.

Nationals- The liasons are from the 26th-29th in San Antonio Texas. A discussion

followed on whether Cal Poly will host and if so will the chapters donate money? Jose Sandoval

reported that the Oregon State liason was very disorganized. In the 2nd liason they

got their stuff together. Registration may be $45 a person.

It was agreed that we need to do recruiting and we need to bring in new members

to the central. Discussions about Nationals and any possible Central participation

were tabled for next meeting.

Internal officer brought up the issue of Dec. 12 walkouts in the El Monte district.

A long discussion followed and all the chapters agree to participate in the walkout.

Meetings will follow to discuss the route of walk out and further logistics.
