Christmas in Hyrule
by FlyVenus

Link was suiting up in his room within Hyrule Castle. He was wearing his red cloak underneath a thick, but light winter coat. Ganon's army was still strong in force, and it had been reported that the Stalfos Knights from the Ice Palace were starting an uprising. The Stalfos Knights would have quite an advantage in this snowy, and cold weather. Therefore he was bringing his fire wand, so that he could toast those vile skeletons. It was snowing hard outside, so Link had wanted to be prepared. He brought his uncle's lantern so he wouldn't get lost. He wore a sleeping bag on his back in case he couldn't make it back tonight. He knew Ganon probably had put other creatures out tonight besides the Stalfos Knights, so that Link would be outnumbered. However numbers had never scared Link. He brought his long bow, and 20 arrows in case there were any Wizzrobes. He hated those wizards so much.
Knock! Knock! Link jumped up and ran to the door. It was princess Zelda. She gave him some heavy gloves, and some good snow boots. She wished him good luck and was off. She had to help the wounded villagers.
He put on the big boots over his Pegasus boots and ran out the entrance to Hyrule Castle.
He almost tripped in the snow several times, but made it in the end. He ran as fast as he could to the problem, which was several minutes away.
Once he arrived at the scene he hid behind a bush. He took out his long bow and shot an explosive arrow (left over from his first encounter with Ganon) right into a middle of Octorocks. They were history, but the others were violently swinging there heads in search of the assassin.
He shot another one right into a patch of concerned Wizzrobes. Only one saw it come, and disappeared before he could be blown to bits. This Wizzrobe was different: it had a torn green robe, it was smaller then the others, and seemed very neglected. He looked around but couldn't see the little Wizzrobe. Later he thought.
There were more Wizzrobes, and it seemed they had discovered where he was. He shot a blast from his fire wand, while dodging magic attacks from his opposers. It was a good thing Stalfos Knights were really stupid, because if they weren't, they'd probably have noticed the fire fight.
Once he was done with the Wizzrobes, he lit an explosive arrow with the fire wand, and shot it right into the center of the Stalfos cluster. He had won with a loud explosion of fire and bones. He had started to head back to the castle, when he saw something twitch in the bush next to him. He looked in to see the tiny Wizzrobe he had seen earlier. It was wounded in it's left arm and his wand was broken. He picked it up and rushed to Hyrule castle.
It was 1:00 A.M. and the Wizzrobe was starting to wake up. It had been four hours since the disturbing attack had ended. It opened its eyes, and jumped back, probably scared out of his wits. Link looked towards him and said to calm down. He slowly slid back into the bed he had been provided, and spoke nothing.
"What happened to you? After I shot the arrow?" Link asked.
"When..." he trembled, "You shot the arrow... I saw it and dematerialized. I rematerialized about ten yards from where you found me, and started to run away. Ganon saw me do this, and shot black lightning from his new lightning wand. It hit me and I went flying. Then everything went black.
"Why did Ganon do this to you?" asked Zelda.
"It wasn't my first escape attempt." He replied in a soft voice.
"Why don't you tell us about yourself, from the beginning?" asked Link.
"When I was first created by an older Wizzrobe, I was a victim of an unfortunate accident. The Wizzrobe working on me had dropped a chemical into me, causing me to be smaller then the others. I hated being evil right from the beginning. Ganon had ordered me to shoot a barn full of chickens, but I couldn't. When he went to do it himself, I shot him in the back. He turned around and hit me as hard as he could. But since I am made of mostly antimatter, it only harmed me slightly, and tore my robe to bits. He paid special attention to me ever since. But I was proud because I had saved the poultry from certain extinction.
"Then when I was older, I had begun to rebuild my robe. I found many spare materials, but liked red and green the most. I made the robe you see me wearing, but it got shred to pieces on the trip to the attack site. The other Wizzrobes despise me, and shot corners of my robe with their wands."
"That reminds me. Your wand broke, we are currently constructing a new one for you." said Zelda.
"Thank you. My wand was different then the others. It wasn't nearly as powerful, but was of my own creating. Rather then destroy things, it brought them happiness, and made them feel good. The others figured this out, and destroyed it on the way here. I had upgraded it just recently, and it had the ability to heal victims of an attack, or unfortunate accident."
Link looked shocked. "What is your name?"
The little Wizzrobe looked back. "No Wizzrobe has a name, only a number. I'm failure number 463,283. However, would you please call me Blake?"
"Of course we will." said Zelda.
"If this wand of yours can heal as fast as you say, we may be able to help the wounded," said Link. "Why don't you go down into the laboratory and help them rebuild your wand?"
With this Blake jumped out of his bed and scurried down the hallway. He wasn't even told where to go, but somehow he knew already.
When Blake arrived in the laboratory he was almost blasted away by the guards. However they did recognize him from earlier. They let him pass and he went straight to work. Several wands were constructed, and one he made for himself.
It was only three days until Christmas, so the castle decorators were busily working away. They all hoped Ganon would not attack over the holiday. The tree was tall, and filled with many ornaments. Rumor had it, that it was taken from the center of the Mysterious woods.
The walls were covered with decorations, and it made Blake feel happy. He knew this wouldn't last though. It was only a matter of time before Ganon came to take him back. He couldn't let it happen again. This time he was going to stand up for himself.
He was soon in the medical center helping wounded villagers get healed. He was among some 50 of the medical personnel that was zapping each of the victims with the wands of life.

Ganon sat in his castle looking through Aghinim's crystal ball. Blake had earned quite a good reputation in the Hyrulian castle over the last few days. The next day would be Christmas, the ideal time to attack. The one time of the year the guards would be slacking off.
He was preparing his army. Every creature he owned would attack tomorrow. He had at the least prepared some million Wizzrobes, hundreds of Octorocks, thousands of Stalfos Knights, and 45 giant Dodongos. Those were his most trusted creations. The Dodongos were huge, had good armor, could not be hurt from the outside, due to their tough skin, and had a lot of force.
"Tomorrow," Ganon said, "is when we attack." The lights went out and he fell asleep laughing very hard.

It was Christmas morning, and Link was giving gifts to the children of the castle. They were jumping for joy each time they received a gift. The tree looked beautiful from Blake's angle. Then again he remembered it looked good from whatever side you were looking at.
Everyone was gathered in the ball room, the housing of the Christmas tree. They were all opening their gifts and welcoming relatives. Soon breakfast would be served. Everyone looked forward to it. Most of them had eaten there on a Christmas day, and knew the good taste of the food.
Everyone was heading into the breakfast room when the ground began to shake. Screaming started, and the guards rushed to stop the intruders. Many fell to their deaths bravely fighting the enemy. All of a sudden 20 Dodongos smashed through the wall, knocking guests to the ground. None were dead, but some were severely injured.
Link was frantic, and Zelda was trying to bring the guests to the cells below.
Link jumped on one of the Dodongos, and shoved a bomb into its mouth. He jumped off, and ducked. The Dodongo was no more. Blake ran to find Ganon. He dodged Octorocks everywhere.
Then he saw him. He shouted out, "Ganon, stop this attack. Today is the day we should be united, not fighting."
"Stupid failure, you know nothing about war." Ganon shouted back.
"Ganon, turn back your attack. Can't you see what you're doing is wrong?" he questioned the monster in front of him.
"Out of my way!" he screamed as he signaled the remaining 35 Dodongos to attack. Blake dodged the attack by flying upwards. He had forgotten about his wand. As Ganon drew closer to the castle he suddenly remembered it. "Ganon, you are not going to take this castle on this day!" he shouted.
Ganon looked to his left, only long enough to see a beam of red magic coming his way. It hit him in the face. He tried to fight it, shoved away from happiness, and tore wildly at the beam. Blake continued to launch the beam, and Ganon continued to fight it. He wasn't going to give into love and happiness. The remaining army of Ganon's and the guards, and even Link and Zelda, were watching in twisted confusion as Ganon weakened. He jolted upwards and in an was exploded in a ball of white light. He had fought the kindness rays as long as he could, but now laid in ashes for his stupidity. No one thought this would be the last of Ganon, they knew he would return, but when he did they'd be ready.
They spent the rest of the day celebrating Christmas the way it should be. The wall was repaired instantly by the wands, and anyone who had died or had been wounded was healed.

All this was thanks to Blake: The Wizzrobe that saved Christmas.
