The Ding family, originally written Dind, is an old honorable area family who formally had their domicile in Switzerland (near Lausanne). Since the 17th Century, branches of this family have settled in the vicinity of Mannheim. They carry the following crest: A silver stag (standing on three green mounds facing a golden crest rose. Helmet decorations: Upon a protective helmet rests two silver antlers on three green mounds. Between the antlers is the golden crest rose. Plumage of silver-blue is on both sides. The helmet decorations, as well as the colors of the crest were modified according to the rules of heraldry. Age of the crest: Approximately 1540. A copy of the crest is in the Crest Collection of J.
