Frogs

Frogs have wet, slimy skin, but they sure make great pets! Here is a collection of some very colorful and fun frogs. Basically, they fall into two categories: tree frogs and ground-dwelling frogs.

Geckos & Chameleons

These are some of the most popular exotic pets around! They can be very colorful and fun to watch, and depending on the type and the care you provide, they can live between 5 to 12 years.

Lizards

There are a large variety of lizards available as pets, and they basically fall into two categories: those which are found in tropical environments(wet, moist - like forests and jungles), and those which are found in arid environments(hot, dry - like deserts and prairies)

Other Exotics

The pets in this group are a fascinating collection of animals from around the world, from exotic cockroaches to excitable ferrets to the incredibly cute sugar glider.

Snakes

Snakes are unique and fascinating animals, and can make fantastic pets. If properly cared for, most snakes in captivity will live a good 10-15 years. You will find that most of the snakes in this collection fall into two categories: those which are found in tropical environments(wet, moist - like forests or jungles), and those which are found in arid environments(hot, dry - like deserts or prairies).

Spiders & Scorpions

These creepy-crawly creatures look scary, but actually they are very gentle. They only bite or sting when they are threatened or agitated(it feels like a bee sting). Don't worry! Be nice to your pets and they will be nice to you.

Turtles & Tortoises

Turtles and tortoises make great pets because they are very easy to care for. Turtles need lots of swimming area and a place where they can come out of the water and bask. Tortoises, however, are land animals, so a dry terrarium (set up to emulate their natural environment) with a bowl of water for them to climb into occassionaly would do just fine.
