Many people have been confused by the whole idea of showing and dont really know what its about so here are some questions that are commonly asked.
Whats a show name, how do I get one and why do I need one?
A show name is one that sets your crab apart from the others. Something completely individual. Sometimes in one show there might be two crabs with the same name, like Crabby or something common like that. A show name makes sure people dont get confused when it comes to voting. You make your own show name up. Examples(please dont use them though) would be *Seaside Delight* or *Mirroring Waterfall* Normally something ridiculous works.
Who chooses the winner and for what reasons?
The hermit crab community choses who wins by voting in a poll. Most people pick the winners b/c they like the look of the crab. Not always the best picture wins however so it doesnt really come down to pic. quality. If your not a pro photograpehr dont fret! You cannot however vote for your own crab. All votes cna be traced via IP address so no cheating or your banned from any future involvement with HCC.
Do I actually win anything for winning a show?
Well of course you gain prestige ! but as of now there are no physical prizes for winnning a show. This could change as we develop though. But as you can imagine it might be costly to buy and ship prizes.
