Lomalinda Memories from the '70s.

A Helio (H-391B) takes off from the Wycliffe base in Lomalinda, Colombia.  This Helio was in a severe accident
that sheared off the rear fuselage.  The skilled missionary mechanics were able to rebuild the tail section
enough to fly it off the mountain where it had the accident, then do more extensive repairs back at the Wycliffe
hangar.

The same Helio in the hangar at Lomalinda.

A Helio taking off, or landing, at Lomalinda, the scenery is gorgeous even in black and white.

'Preflight'

Helio approach into a jungle airstrip.

A Helio crashes with the children of missionary pilot Bob Griffin on board.
The aircraft took off, got behind the power curve and crashed, everyone survived, thank God.
Had it been another airplane besides the Helio the outcome might have been different.
