GODHEAD

Adonai - LORD, or The Master - Gen. 15:2.

El - “God” - Gen. 31:13; 35:1,3; 46:3.
El-Berith - “God of the Covenant” - 2Ch. 34:32.
El-Elyon - “The Most High God” or “The Exalted One” - Num. 24:16.  Emphasizing God's strength, sovereignty, and supremacy.   First used by Melchizedek in Gen. 14:19.  Also appears in Psa. 9:2; Dan 7:18,22,25,27.
El-Olam - “God of eternity” or “God the Everlasting One” - Psa. 90:2.  From an original meaning of “the God of eternity” Gen. 21:33.  It emphasizes God's unchangeableness (Ps 100:5; 103:17) and is connected with His inexhaustible strength (Isa 40:28).
El-Roi - Meaning: “God Who sees me,” or “God of vision” - Gen. 16:13.
El-Shaddai - “God Almighty” - Gen. 15:2, or “The Almighty God” - Gen. 17:1,2,4,6.  Meaning “mountain.”  It was the name by which God appeared to the patriarchs to give comfort and confirmation of the covenant with Abraham - Gen. 17:1; 28:3; 35:11; Ex. 6:3; see also Gen. 43:14; 49:25; Psa. 91:1-2.  The name is also used in connection with the chastening of God's people - Ruth 1:2-21.
El-Sur - “Mighty One” - 1Sa. 30:21 or “Rock” - 2Sa. 23:3.
Elohim - A plural form for Deity - Gen. 1:26.  God, Gen. 1:1:  “Strong Creator.”  In relationship to His Lordship, Elohim is used to describe Him as the “God of all the earth” (Isa. 54:5), the “God of all Flesh” (Jer. 32:27), the “God of heaven” (Neh. 2:4), and the “God of gods and Lord of lords” (Duet. 10:17).  In relation to His work of Creation, He is the Elohim Who created all things (Gen. 1:1; Isa. 45:18; Jonah 1:9).  In relation to His judging (Psa. 50:6; 58:11).  In relation to His works on behalf of Israel (Due. 5:23; 8:15; Psa. 68:7).
