This is the 230 series from 1977.
Also now available in the four door hardtop model shown below (regular four door sedan is still available), this new body type would ultimately displace the 2 door hardtops.
The same process applied to numerous models from Nissan as well as other Japanese manufacturers.

During the 230 series the design was facelifted perhaps in 1979 or '80?
Quad square headlights became fashionable due to their legalisation in the US in the mid '70s.
