With the new body came a new name, but the six cylinder engine remained at 2.4 litres. This was known as Cedric and/or Gloria on some other markets, and also smaller engines including diesels were available outside Australia.

A clean bodyside with only a minor waistline bump in the rear quarters, this model was considered conservative compared to it's arch rival Toyota Crown (which had gone radical at the same time!)
