Brickittsville--- AP "It's time for change. This was not how I intended to begin the process." Mayor A.B. Sinclair was shaken from his Brickittsville home Saturday when an earthquake rocked the small town of Brickittsville a little before six in the morning. "The town is in chaos….but the people are really pulling together to restore their community." Local geologists have stated that the harsh winter was a major factor in the earthquake. Professor Doug Granite believes that the amount of snowfall over the winter and the rapid melting caused the plates beneath the earth to move. "According to seismologists the result was a 7.5 on the Richter Scale. With the earth as soft as it was, everything was affected." The plates that separated can be easily seen looking off of old main. The earth is separated anywhere from one foot to three square blocks in some spots.

So far only a minimal amount of injuries have been accounted for as many people were out of town for Cinco De Mayo. "This could have been much worse," stated Sinclair. "The hospital has been getting people back on their feet very quickly. But we still have that giant rat to contend with." What could have been the insult to injury, a giant rat has been seen running through the town. It can only be guessed that it crawled out of the earth once it opened up and could be carrying all sorts of diseases. The National Guard has been called in to exterminate the predator. "We will go on. We will rebuild. We will succeed." Mayor Sinclair has called for emergency funding to help rebuild the town and progress should resume shortly.
