Two Hand Tapping

This is a skill used by many lead guitarists such as Kirk Hammet of Metallica, Eddie Van Halen of Van Halen, and others. So now I'm going to try to explain it.

OK. what it is basically is you are holding down a note with your left hand, let's say its the 5th fret on the G string. Then with your right hand you tap a note higher on the neck then the other(5th). So let's use the 12th fret. So now you have your 1st finger of your left hand on the 5th fret and the 1st finger of your right hand on the 12th fret. Now after you tap the note on the 12th fret you want to pull that finger off so the other note sounds. Then after the note on the 5th fret sounds you want to hammer on with another finger on your left hand, let's use the 7th fret.(for more information on hammer-ons look here.) It's a little complicated but with practice and patience you can get the hang of it. For more help look at the exercises below.
*Key:
r.h- right hand
p-pull-of
h-hammer-on

E------------------|
b------------------|
g--12(r.h)-p5h7----| Try to do this one a couple times repeating.
d------------------| GO S L O W
a------------------|
e------------------|

Next try this one:
E------------------------------------|
b------------------------------------|
g-12(r.h.)-p5h7--12(r.h)-p5h8--------|
d------------------------------------|
a------------------------------------|
e------------------------------------|

Again go S L O W

Now try this one which involves skipping strings:
E-------------------------------------------------------------------
b-------------------------------------12(r.h.)-p5h7--12(r.h)-p58----
g-12(r.h.)-p5h7--12(r.h.)-p5h8--------------------------------------
d-------------------------------------------------------------------
a-------------------------------------------------------------------
e-------------------------------------------------------------------

If you can do that you're doing good, but always go S L O W.

The last one is gonna involve 3 strings so get ready:
E-12(r.h.)-p5h7--12(r.h.)-p5h7--12(r.h.)-p5h8-12(r.h.)-p5h8
b---------------------------------------------------------
g---------------------------------------------------------
d---------------------------------------------------------
a---------------------------------------------------------
e---------------------------------------------------------

This is the second part:
E---------------------------------------------------------
b-12(r.h.)-p5h7--12(r.h.)-p5h8-10(r.h)-p5h7-10(r.h.)-p5h8-
g---------------------------------------------------------
d---------------------------------------------------------
a---------------------------------------------------------
e---------------------------------------------------------

This is the last part
E---------------------------------------------------------------
b---------------------------------------------------------------
g-12(r.h.)-p5h7--12(r.h.)-p5h7--12(r.h.)-p5h8--12(r.h.)-p5h8----
d---------------------------------------------------------------
a---------------------------------------------------------------
e---------------------------------------------------------------
