I've been asked about some the perks of being a Preferred Browser. For one thing, whenever a new project begins at Download Central, I announce in the newsletters before I announce it here. That said, with the original version of Card Sharks back on GSN, that is my next project. Of course, they had to start all the way back at the start of the series, didn't they? I have added a few more questions to the FAQ.
Also, with the addition of the 31st edition of Is it Just Me..., I now have a new index page. About half the previous columns now link to this index page instead of previous columns.

It's 7-11 day! When's Mystery 7 day? Or even Super Six day?
OK, all joking aside, it's tough living in limbo. I'm moving to another state this summer--or I'm supposed to anyway. I've told one or two Preferred Browsers that I'd hold off my some of my projects until I'm settled in the new place, but I had no idea the going would be this slow. I did already close the purchase of the new house, but it needs a lot of work before we pack up the moving vans. And of course, we haven't even sold our current house yet!
Where all of this is going is, please be patient in this time of transition. When I finally do get settled in, whenever that may be, I will find some way to make it all worth it.

I know exactly where I was 20 years ago this morning. I actually remember watching Michael Larson's $110,000 run that morning. Too bad I was only 9 and didn't think to record it. Thank goodness for GSN. To commerate the occasion, I completed my spin-by-spin log of the record-breaking performance. I'll have analysis and statistics in a future update.
Godspeed, Gene and Ronald.

It's the GSW's 3rd anniversary, and to celebrate, PYL GameControl v5.0 is ready to go. There were still a few planned features that didn't make the deadline, but I'll just put them on the to-do list for v5.1. I also have a rulesheet for the recently-concluded World Series of Blackjack.
There is a reason the going has been so slow lately. I've been house-hunting for the last couple of months, but I haven't found the right house yet. I have a couple other projects planned for later this month, so I'll try to make time for them. If I don't, now you know why.

This update is all about spring cleaning. The FAQ got a much-needed update, a few new links have been added, and I made a few clarifications on the original concepts page. Also, With the 20th anniversary of Michael Larson's run on Press Your Luck coming up this spring, I just started on my account of same. Finally, the existance of a solo player on Blockbusters named Carlos Washington has been confirmed by Phil Occhipinti, who helped fill in the three lost episodes on my episode guide, including the transition to the format we're more familiar with.

The last week was one very eventful week. The night Lingo v3.01 came out, the site went over its daily bandwidth limit--for the first time ever. However, a couple of bugs were found and quickly fixed, and now v3.1 is up. I now have two new projects underway, but for the first time, I had to drop some members from the Preferred Browsers' Club mailing list.
And that was only the news pertaining to the website.
I'm activating the Page O' Clips link today, but that page itself won't be reopening until Monday (at the earliest). Also, with poker on TV all the rage, the time has come to unveil a question-and-answer based poker game I came up with long ago. After comparing this idea with Doug Morris's 'Net Poker, I think his version would make a better game show. :-p Finally, the longest drought in Is it just me... history ends with my thoughts on all-star spoilers, hockey holdouts, and Scooter Girl.

It seems like yesterday the ball dropped in New York. The first four weeks of 2004 meant lots and lots of tinkering with software, links, and whatnot. Season 3 of Lingo is finally ready, and new games await. If I tend to disappear for a while (which has happened more than once lately), I'm just backlogged.
Time to break my Super Bowl jinx: Patriots by five (and I'm taking the under).
