An archaeological dig on Giza Plateau discovers coverstones, fossilized remains of an armoured warrior and a large ring with 39 undecipherable symbols engraved on it and 9 chevrons. Translation suggests the name Doorway To Heaven. The device ends up in the US.
As depicted in "Stargate" (given a year too!). The Director's Cut established the armoured warrior found fossilized. The Doorway To Heaven translation was proven wrong, but I'm jumping ahead of myself. At this point, Catherine is supposed to be 4, but she looks a few years older in the movie. This could be put down to a good ol'-fashioned continuity flaw, or the fact that the creators of the original movie had nothing to do with the series, who knows.

Michael is drafted to fight in the Vietnam War. Before responding to the draft, he travels to the Woodstock concert near Bethel, NY. While passing through Colorado on Aug 4th, he picks up 4 hitchhikers. He drops them off in Washington DC on Aug 11th.
Aug 11 - 4 individuals enter an armoury in Washington DC where the Doorway To Heaven is kept. They are believed to be the same people who were discovered at Cheyenne Mountain a week earlier as they use similar methods to stun the guards.
After a visit from the previously unknown son of an old friend and partner of her father from the Giza dig, Heinrich Gruber, Catherine Langford begins her research into the Doorway To Heaven.
These are the events that make up most of the episode "1969" Lt. Hammond's father was taken to hospital 2 days before the moon landing. This and the fact that he watched the landing from his father's bedside where told by O'Neill in an effort to persuade Hammond to help them. Dr. Langford picking up the research again in the late 60's was a thought from Daniel when he realized his and Carter's visit might have been what set the idea in motion. The 4 individuals referred to somewhat mysteriously here were (have you guessed it?) SG1. (Doy!)

Cassandra is born on Hanka.
Cassandra's planet of birth is seen in "Singularity" "Learning Curve" establishes she is now in junior high. I'm no expert on the American education system, but if Cassandra were to progress at 1 grade a year, she would start junior high in September 1998 and would be 13 at this point (feel free to correct me though!) However, in "Rite Of Passage" it is her 15th birthday.
Steven Rayner begins working with Dr. David Jordan.
Steven had been with Dr. Jordan for 15 years before "The Curse" It is not clear if Daniel, Sarah and Steven were all in the same class and became Dr. Jordan's assistants at the same time, but if it were, Daniel would have been 20 at the time.

Work begins on deciphering the symbols on the Doorway To Heaven under the civilian direction of Dr. Catherine Langford after years of petitioning several administrations to reinstate the program. USAF officer Samantha Carter is also involved.
Scientists had been working on deciphering the symbols for 2 years before "Stargate" Carter had studied the technology for 2 years before the Abydos mission according to "Children Of The Gods" In "Torment Of Tantalus" Langford had been petitioning several administrations for 40 years to reinstate the program. 40 years is a nice round figure that could be a casual way round of saying 41 years, which would also gel nicely with when work began on deciphering the symbols, which you'd think would be an early part of the research.

Jack O'Neill has a disagreement with his son Charlie over a water gun. They argue and Charlie runs off.
2 weeks before Charlie shot himself according to "The Devil You Know"
Charlie O'Neill dies after accidentally shooting himself with his father's gun. Sara, his mother, is able to forgive Jack, his father, but can't forget. Jack, however, can't forgive himself and retires from the Air Force.
The incident is referred to first in "Stargate" and brought up again in "Children Of The Gods" and "Cold Lazarus"
Captain Samantha Carter is re-assigned to the Pentagon after 2 years spent trying to make the Doorway To Heaven work. 1 year of her time at the Pentagon is spent studying nano-technology. Carter also spends some time working with Dr. Timothy Harlow, one of the world's top geneticists.
Carter is re-assigned to the Pentagon just before the Abydos mission according to "Children Of The Gods" She refers to her nano-technology studies in "Brief Candle" and her work with Dr. Harlow in "Bane"
After his visit from Dr Langford, Daniel Jackson concludes his relationship with Sarah Gardner and quits as one of Dr. David Jordan's assistants and associates before leaving for Colorado.
As mentioned in "The Curse" It is actually concurrent with events depicted near the beginning of "Stargate"
In an alternate reality, Daniel Jackson rudely refuses Dr. Langford's offer to join the team translating the Giza cartouche.
Referred to in "There But For The Grace Of God" this also happened at the same time as a scene early on in the movie.
"Stargate" Dr Langford recruits Dr Jackson to the project. He corrects the translation to Stargate. 2 weeks later he succeeds in activating the Stargate. A team sent through, including a reactivated O'Neill, encounters natives of Abydos including Sha're, who is presented to Daniel as his wife. They also meet Ra the Sun God. Daniel uncovers the truth behind Ra and how the Abydonians came to be here. After finding that Ra plans to use a bomb brought by O'Neill to combat any possible threat, they turn it on Ra and destroy his ship while in orbit. The survivors of the team (O'Neill, Ferretti and Kawalsky) return to Earth, leaving Jackson behind with the now free Abydonians, with the promise that the Stargate will be buried after they leave.
This is the original movie, released in 1994, that was written by Roland Emmerich (who also directed) and Dean Devlin, who went on to greater things including Independence Day and Godzilla. The feature film starred Kurt Russell as Col. Jonathan "Jack" O'Neil (one 'l') and James Spader as Dr. Daniel Jackson. Devlin and Emmerich have since distanced themselves from the spinoff as they originally planned "Stargate" as a trilogy before Independence Day came along, delaying the sequel long enough for MGM to commission a series.
O'Neill retires. He writes a report stating that the bomb was detonated on Abydos killing all possible threats as well as planet's inhabitants including Daniel. He returns home to discover his wife has already left. Sara moves to Winter Park, CO.
O'Neill's story of what happened after he got back and the reference to the report are from "Children Of The Gods" while Sara's address is given in "Cold Lazarus"
A probe is sent to Abydos following O'Neill's return, which is flattened upon it's exit from other gate. Other addresses are tried from Earth Stargate without success.
After the Abydos mission, according to "Children Of The Gods"
Project is shut down. Personnel are shipped off the base for the next few months.
"Children Of The Gods"
Captain Samantha Carter starts researching alternative applications for the stargate, including time travel. She theorizes that a solar flare occurring at the same time as gate travel would slingshot the gate travellers forward or backward in time.
The research was referred to in "1969"
"Well, it's hard to say." - O'Neill
"Some sort of state secret?" - Thornbird
"No, just difficult to pronounce." - O'Neill
A big party is held to celebrate the Abydonians having been freed from slavery. Daniel doesn't get big-headed though, which he attributes to Sha'uri.
As told by Daniel in "Children Of The Gods"
A month after O'Neill leaves Abydos, Daniel Jackson discovers another cavern, which contains a cartouche displaying glyphs representing the addresses of other planets, as well as calculations to compensate for stellar drift. Also in the cavern is a dialling device that connects to the Stargate to enable easier inputting of an address. Daniel studies the device for some months at some point moving it nearer the gate.
As told by Daniel in "Children Of The Gods" with the reference to studying it for some months coming from "The Enemy Within"
