Lita's Past - Chapter 4

I woke up the next morning, glad that my friends understood me and were probably grateful that I had gotten them out of such tight spots, only did I look around the room did I notice that Tarra, whom shared the second bed beside my own, was gone. At first I thought that maybe she must gotten up early to get some breakfast, getting dressed I thought about last nights conversation.
I’m pretty sure they understand. I mean they are my friends.
I walked out of my room while running my fingers through my hair and humming to myself, I went over to Steven and Garry’s room and knocked on their door. No answer. After waited for a few minutes and knocking a few more times I opened the door. They weren’t there! There was no sign of them! I stood there looking into the room for a while more, them I quickly ran to the front desk, not believing that they would leave me.
“Excuse me.” I said to the clerk, she turned and smiled at me.
“But I came here with three other kids, have you seen them?”
The clerk nodded explaining that all of them had left about an hour ago.
“They wanted to know if we had any bikes, I told them that we had and gave them some. They said to tell you that they were going to come right back that they were just going for a quick bike ride.”
I stared at her, it took me a few seconds to realize that they weren’t coming back for me, that they wanted to get as far away from me as possible. I closed my eyes briefly fighting the tears.
“Thank you, if you don’t mind I’ll be on my way.”
“But don’t you want to wait for your friends?” the clerk asked me.
I shook my head silently, and without another word I walked out of the hotel and continued on my own. Since them whenever I met another trainer, I became wary of them wondering if they had heard of my abilities from Garry and the others because of that thought I didn’t make any friends while on my travels.
I haven’t heard from them since. I got up and walked back to the temple courtyard. I stopped at a fountain that was at the far end of the courtyard and stared down at myself. I glared at the reflection. Why was I born with these powers?  They bring me nothing but loneliness. Because of them I’ll never have any friends. Friends. I looked down at the mood ring that Serenity had given me. Serenity, my friend. She knew about my powers and she wasn’t afraid of me or anything, in fact she said that my ability was a gift. I could “see” if somebody was in trouble and help them out, and sometimes whenever I told a person about their future they always seemed grateful that their future was crystal clear to them. Serenity said that if I needed any help then I can call on her.
Yugi said the same thing. Yugi.  I am such a doofus, here I am wallowing in self pity complaining that I have no friends, when in reality I do. I spun around laughing, vowing that I wasn’t going to let people’s negative thinking about me bother me ever again. Then happily I danced over to the counter, leapt over it and humming to myself, I finished my shift.
As I was walking home, humming to myself glad that I had made the realization I spotted Yugi. I waved and running toward him, I threw my arms around him and gave him a hard kiss.
Yugi fell back a couple of steps but then he returned it.
Yugi will never leave me, both of us are a bit alike, and I know that Joey and Serenity will always be my friends and that they’ll always be there for me.  I released Yugi, and stepped back from him smiling.
“Thanks, I was about to do the same thing, but I guess you beat me to it.” Yugi said giving a little laugh.
I took both of Yugi’s hands and spun him around.
“Yugi, right now I feel so happy. I wasn’t sure how to express my feelings for you.”
“Reminds me of our first kiss.”
I grinned.
“I just kept thinking that I was going to always be alone because of my powers, but now I realize that right now, I’m not alone. I’ve got you, Joey and Serenity....oh and Yami of coarse.”
“You know that we’ll never leave you, that we’ll always be by your side.”
“Thanks Yugi.”
On the ground near his feet, I saw 2 duel disks I asked him about it, and he told me that he wanted to show me these so we can duel.
“But if you don’t want to duel, then that was okay.”  He said bending down and picking up the disks.
I shook my head saying that I didn’t want to duel him but I have always wanted to try one of the disks on and see my Pokemon standing in front of me.
“Besides I’ve heard so much about them.”
We went over to my house and I got my deck, then returning to the front yard Yugi told me to insert my deck into the deck slot, which I did. Then he told me how to activate it. Which I did, I pulled out a card from my deck and placed on another one of the slots face up like he told me to.
“Clefairy!” said my clefairy, that had actually come to life!!
“Oh wow, that is so cool!” I yelled as I stared in awe at my pokemon, I reached out my hand to touch it, but my hand passed right through it. I frowned.
Yugi chuckled. “Its only a hologram Lita, but they are very life like.”
He pulled out a card and he showed me one of his beta warriors. I let out an excited squeal and exclaimed on how cute it was.
“Cute? A duel monster isn’t cute.”
“I know but that one is.”
We continued to show our monster to each other until both of us had nearly gone through our entire deck, you could tell that Yugi was getting slightly annoyed with me, hey it’s not my fault that some of his duel monster were cute looking especially his kuriboh. And who knew that a holographic monster could blush.
“Kay, how about we each show each other our favorite cards.”  Yugi pulled out a card and placed it in one of the slots, and a monster appeared.
“Ahhh........cutie!!” I squealed as the Dark Magician made his appearance. Dark Magician actually raised an eyebrow!
“The Dark Magician is not cute!” yelled Yugi.
“Yes he is.”
“No, he isn’t.”
“Yes, he is.”
“No, he isn’t.”
“Yes, he is.”
“Just show me your favorite card already.” Yugi said with an exasperated sigh.
I smiled. Yugi is probably expecting for me to show my dragonite since like his Dark Magician its my most powerful card. Well, is he in for a surprise.  Laughing quietly to myself, I searched through my deck until I found my card, then I placed it in the card slot.
“Bell sprout.” said the pokemon.
Yugi’s mouth dropped open.
“What is that?”
“ This is my favorite card, my bell sprout.” I said with a grin.
“You have got to be kidding me, isn’t that one of the most weakest pokmeon in the world?”
I shook my head. “It may be weak looking, but I’ve been putting a lot of hours and time into making it really strong, and I’m really proud of my bell sprout. Right Bell sprout?”
“Bell sprout.”
Yugi continued to stare at me for a few more minutes, then he shook his head, but he was trying extremely hard not to laugh.
For the rest of the day Yugi and I shown off our monster to each other and their attacks.
Another week went by and finally, the night of the Cave concert arrived, Joey Serenity, Yugi and I were really excited, my mom took us to the front of the arena where the concert was being held. We stood in line, gave our tickets to the person in the glass booth and we went inside, we found our seats and the concert began.
A couple of days later all of us went to an amusement park, Joey and Yugi were both treating me and rode almost every ride. Then as promised I drew a picture of Joey and Serenity, first as themselves then as their favorite Duel Monsters and of Yugi and Yami.

THE END
