Yugi’s Priestess
Chapter 4
As Yugi was walking home after dropping me off at my house a spirit joined him.
"Hey, Yami." Yugi said as he started to hum a song that he had heard on the radio.
"Hello Yugi," said Yami, he had a thoughtful look on his face. "Yugi, thank you for taking me to go see the cherry blossoms they
were quite beautiful."
"No problem, speaking of beautiful, Lita looked fantastic in that kimono that she was wearing, I wonder if she made it herself."
Yami thought about something, finally he said. "Yugi, while I was looking at the cherry blossoms, I am sure that Lita saw me."
Yugi stopped and turned toward the spirit.
"What do you mean? Nobody can see you except me, and she couldn't have seen you, you're a ghost."
"I'm certain that she saw me, she called me 'Yugi' then when she saw that I wasn't you she stopped at looked at me, not through me,
right at me."
Yugi stared at the spirit, then he shook his head after thinking for a little while.
“Hmmm, I’ll ask her about it okay?”
“Okay.” Yami disappeared and Yugi continued to walk home.
The next day Yugi and I went to a café to talk and on the way there we talked about Duel Monsters and Pokemon, he told me about his
adventures of Duelist Kingdom and The Battle City Finals, Better leave out the parts about Marik and the
Millennium items. He thought.
We were both chowing down on some burgers when I told him about my adventures of battling the toughest opponents and meeting new
people and capturing new pokemon.
He laughed “It looks like we were made for each other.”
I smiled and blushed. Then I noticed his necklace, well if you could call it that. It was more like a puzzle of some sort. I can’t
believe I didn’t even notice that before. I thought.
“Hey Yugi, nice necklace.”
He looked surprised then he glanced down at the puzzle hanging around his neck.
“My grandfather gave me this it was kind of like a good luck charm during all of my battles.”
“Can I see it?”
“Sure.” He handed the puzzle to me, and as soon as my hands touched it I had a vision! I was in some sort of temple, looking around
I saw a boy on a throne and he seemed to be looking at something beside him, his face was hidden in shadow so I wasn’t sure what he
looked like. But I sensed great power coming from the boy. Then I was back in the café, I looked around. I’m back, what was that
that I just saw and felt? I handed back the puzzle to Yugi.
“You sure it isn’t too heavy?”
He laughed. “No, I’m used to the weight.” Then we started to chat about the differences of Duel Monsters and Pokemon and we showed
each other our cards. They weren’t much different from each other, only in DM you get life points and you can use magic cards.
Later that night as I was getting ready for bed I thought about what I saw and felt in my vision.
I wonder what was that? By the looks of that temple I’d say that that place was in Egypt, and who was the boy? He seemed so
familiar. Better not ask Yugi, he must not know about the powers that the puzzle holds. I yawned, then went to sleep.
At Yugi’s house, Yugi was preparing for bed. Yami appeared. Yugi apologized for not asking me the question that Yami had. He shook
his head.
“Its quite all right Yugi, go to sleep.”
“Are you sure? Because I’m meeting her after school tomorrow, and I could ask her then.”
“That won’t be necessary, I’ll just let it go okay?” Yugi looked at the spirit for a few moments. Then he nodded then was soon fast
asleep.
Yami started to pace back and forth thinking about what he had felt from me when I had touched the puzzle. I sensed a kind of power
from her, power that was unwanted. Could she be a new enemy? He thought. If she is that why hasn’t she made her move to get the
puzzle? Is she waiting until she and Yugi are alone? He looked at the sleeping boy. I’ve never seen him so happy, I was sure that he
wouldn’t let another girl into he’s life, I mean after Tea had broken his heart; when she admitted that she didn’t like him as much
as he liked her. Yugi stirred then settled back. But I sensed goodness in Lita, and she really seems to care for Yugi. His eyes
narrowed as he remembered Bakura. I didn’t even sense the evil spirit within Bakura, whatever power Lita has, she must be hiding it
from Yugi, and I’m not sure if the power is good or bad, I had better be on my guard.
