I first met Yugi when I had wandered into his grandpa's store, I wanted to know what all the fuss was about with duel monsters. I was checking out some pretty awesome looking cards when I heard a voice behind me say "Hey! you're Lita Tsunami!"
I turned there was a boy about my height with blond hair, I've seen him around the temple where I work at. I nodded. I instantly recognized him as Joey Wheeler, he won second place in the Duelist
Kingdom Finals. We both stated to chit chat, and we started to compare Pokemon with DM, see I was a Pokemon Master but now I was retired and working at the Cherry Hill Temple. There I sold good luck charms and stuff, but every once in a while someone would come up to me and ask if I was really a Pokemon Master, and then they would asked why I had retired. Of coarse I would tell them that there was more to life than capturing, battling and trading pokemon. They would look at me like I was nuts. Anyway, Yugi Moto and another boy and a girl came in. They said hi to Joey. Yugi Moto! Oh I wish I had enough courage to ask him out. I thought. Just then Joey introduced me to him. And I just choked! I smiled a shaky one and just stood frozen to the spot, after a while he gave me a weird look and asked if I was okay. And I realized that I had been grinning at him like an idiot! I quickly coughed.
"Yes, I'm fine. Nice shop your grandfather has."
"Thanks." he said. We started to chat and he introduced me to the rest of his friends, Tea Gardner, and Tristan Taylor.
"Very pleased to meet you." I said with a grin.
"Ditto." they both said.
"You Know Lita, I've been following your battles on TV and I must admit that you're a pretty good Trainer." Yugi said. I must be dreaming! I thought to myself excitly.
"Cool, thanks Yugi."
"Where did you learn to battle like that?" Joey asked.
"A friend of mine taught me, showed me all the tricks of the trade." I hope I don't sound like I'm boasting. I thought.
Yugi nodded. I glanced at my watched, had to get back to work.
"I gotta go. See ya later." then I took off.

I spent the rest of the day thinking about Yugi and wondering whether or not he would go out with me, as I was sweeping the front of the temple I saw 3 girls huddled close together and whispering. Without a doubt I knew that they were whispering about me, I sighed. There's gonna be trouble in school tomorrow I just know it. I thought to myself glumly as I continued sweeping.
The next day I saw Yugi walking with his friends, I caught up with them and we began to talk. Me and Joey got into a debate on which dragon was strongest. My Dragonite or Joey's Red-Eyes black dragon. We got to their school, and we had to cut our debate short, I told Joey that maybe he could met up with me after school was over and maybe we could duel. He agreed, then he and his friends walked to class, except Yugi. Because I had stopped him. I took a deep breath. Please say yes. I prayed.
"Um........Yugi, I was wondering if uh...........you would like to go out with me sometime." there I said the words that I've always wanted to say.
Yugi smiled at me. "Sure, okay."
"Cool!" I squeaked. He gave me his phone number and I gave him mine, then he took off for class giving me a wave.
"Yes!" I shouted jumping into the air and I skipped away to school full with joy and rapture. I clutched the phone number and my book bag tightly in my hand and with the other I pulled out my pokemon cards. I hugged them close to my chest they had given me the courage to ask Yugi out.  I sang and danced all the way to school, I couldn't wait until classes where over.
Joey and Yugi were walking toward my school, it was after classes and Joey was giving Yugi some dating tips.
Yugi rolled his eyes wondering whether or not his friend has actually dated. They walked into the grounds and looked around for me.
"Huh, pretty big place for a school." said Joey. they both turned when they heard the sounds of fighting.
"Give those back!" They heard me shout. Yugi and Joey both rushed toward a group of kids who were standing in a circle cheering and jeering while two boys were busily waving my pokemon deck in the air just out of my reach.
"You're no pokemon master!" One of the boys shouted. "In fact you cheated because you used your powers."
"I did not! I won the title fair and square! Now give me my deck!" I lunged for the boy and he stepped out of the way, I fell flat on my face. I gritted my teeth, I was not going to cry.
"Why don't you use your powers to take back your cards?" the boy sneered.
"You heard her, give her back her cards." shouted Joey, in one easy move he reached up, grabbed the boy's arm, yanked it down and got my cards back. Then he gave him a shove toward the other boy.
"Now beat it!" he walked toward me, Yugi was helping me up.
"You alright?" he asked. I looked at Joey, sniffing I nodded my thanks.
"Come on, let's get out of here." Joey said I nodded, we were just about to leave when the boy shouted at me.
"Hey! Tsunami! I'm not finished with you just yet. I'm gonna prove that you cheated in all your pokemon battles!"
I spun, I was getting really sick and tired of this. "Put a sock in it already!!" I shouted. "You're just jealous because I earned the name Pokemon master and you didn't!" I wanted to say more but I thought better of it. The boy was shaking with fury, he leapt, but Joey punched him hard in the stomach. I was shocked that Joey had defended me!
"No one calls a person a cheater, when that person knew that she battled with all of her heart." he said. He glanced at Yugi.  I looked at Joey, I decided to put an end to all the rumors that have been circulating around the school ever since I won the Pokemon Master title.
I stood in front of the boy. "You want to prove that I cheated huh? Fine then I challenge you to a pokemon battle."
"Gladly." the boy snapped. We found a shady spot with a bench we sat down. Yugi and Joey watched with interest, the boy and I started to battle. His type of pokemon were fire and rock. My pokemon were grass and water types.
"Aren't you gonna use your powers? he snapped.
"I don't need them to beat you." and we began to battle. I won't bore you with the details, but my grass pokemon beat his fire, he was a tough opponent, I'll give him that, but I also had a ghost pokemon and that worked wonders. As soon as the battle was over, I stood up.
"Now you know that I didn't cheat, and you will stop the rumors that are going around school, because I know that you're the one that started them." He looked me, then he nodded, he got up then walked away. Joey, Yugi and I walked out of the schoolyard and down the street.
'"Wow, that was awesome, you sure know your pokemon." Joey said. I smiled at him.
"Thanks Joey, and I want to thank you again for standing up for me."
"Hey, no problem." He said with a grin on his face. "Oh about us dueling together forget about it okay? by the looks of it, your dragonite would cream my red-eyes."
I smiled. "Thanks Joey."
"Hey, what did that boy mean by 'using your powers?'" asked Yugi.
I laughed. "Oh, its just a silly rumor going around town, its not true ya know."
"Oh." yugi looked at me for a minute, he could tell that I didn't want to talk about it. He switched the subject to where we were going to go on our first date.
"Whoa look at the time," Joey said. "I gotta get home got some chores to do, see ya later you two." He gave Yugi a thumbs-up sing and a wink then jogged away. I laughed to myself, then I mentioned a movie, yugi agreed. We stopped at the temple.
"So this is where you work?" he asked, I nodded.
Then after telling him where I lived, and after he told me when he was going to pick me up, I went on to work and he went on home. I skipped all the way up the steps, giddy with love and happiness! Suddenly I stopped. What was I going to wear?
