"Uh...we really don't know. I mean, we just met you. And I don't really know how we got ours. Phoebe said she read a spell..." Piper was still in shock from learning Leo knew what powers Paige had to have.
"The Incantation of Power? That was always supposed to be a myth, something no one had ever seen. It was written in your Book of Shadows a long time ago, but even if someone looked through all the pages, it wasn't there. How did Phoebe find it?" Leo's normally clear eyes were clouded with his thoughts and emotions, as they swirled together and made him look lost and vulnerable. His brow was furrowed and he looked as if in deep thought.
Phoebe took a deep breath, as if trying to draw from her memory something long forgotten, something she never wanted to dwell on again. "I went up to the attic, following the spirit board's instructions. Mom or Grams must have been trying to lead me to the attic with it or something, I don't really know. Anyway, I went up there and, just as Prue and Piper had said, the door was locked. I turned to go downstairs, but the door opened on it's own, as if magic. I didn't know it at the time, but it probably was. I went in, and a strange light was on an old trunk. I opened it, and all that was inside was an old, dusty green book. I pulled it out and read the spell. I didn't realize it was a spell until I'd read into the book a little more. That's the exact way we got our powers." Phoebe finished in a monotone voice, showing not of the many emotions flowing through her. She felt alone, and lost in the world. It was strange, knowing she wasn't the youngest, knowing she was now the middle sister, without Prue there to watch and protect them.
"Wow. They had just learned you guys were back together in the old house, and were going to cook up a way to give you your powers, when all of a sudden, we found out you had them. It was a shock to them, they thought everything magic depended on them." Leo paused for a moment before continuing, "And then, I was chosen to guide you. It was considered a great honor to guide the Charmed Ones, and a lot of whitelighters applied to guide ya'll. But I guess they thought I was best. I see now I should have been more watchful. First, Cole, no offence but I should have realized Phoebe couldn't kill you, and now Prue. I just...I feel responsible for all the sorrow you guys have and I think I should give up my title as your whitelighter." Leo's tone was grave as Piper broke down into tears, as she knew her life had officially just fallen to pieces.
