"Okay, is everyone here?" Piper turned and looked around the room. It was time for Prue's funeral, and all who knew Prue and knew about her heritage were there. Darryl, Leo, even Cole had managed to drag himself from the demons below to mourn the loss of Prue. He had come from parties in the Underworld, parties celebrating the exact thing they were mourning here. It was as if he'd been in two different dimensions, or two different worlds, neither of which did he belong. He felt out of place here, being half-demon, he almost wanted to celebrate. But his human half prevailed here, so he managed to feel for Phoebe and Piper's loss. He also felt out of place down below, where his human half didn't want to party and celebrate. There, his demon side was shown to the world, and he made it look like he was enjoying himself. He didn't know where he should be or where to go from here. "Okay, here goes. First, we all have to join hands, because otherwise the ritual won't work." Piper reached out her hands to Leo and Phoebe. Phoebe grabbed Piper's and Cole's hands and so on and so forth until the entire circle was connected. They were sitting around the casket which held Prue. Piper and Phoebe had picked out a stunning black dress, not unlike the one she wore when she was married to the demon, and had put on all the right makeup. Her silky jet black hair was pulled into an elegant bun, and Prue looked like she was going to a party. "Next, we have to-" Piper was cut short by the doorbell ringing. She looked up, startled, then looked around the room. No one else knew she was a witch, so they didn't figure many would come to the funeral. Everyone they'd expected had already arrived. Piper and Phoebe slowly walked to the door, pausing before opening it to reveal the executive from before. She'd changed into a black dress, and was looking nervous and excited when the door was opened. "I'm sorry to intrude, but is this the home of Phoebe Halliwell and Piper Halliwell-Wyatt?" The woman asked gently. "Yes. May we help you?" Piper was polite, although trying to rush the woman home. It was bad timing to come now. "Yes. Is this the place where Prue Halliwell's funeral is being held?" She asked again, trying not to intrude on the privacy of these women. She heard footsteps in the distance, coming towards the door from inside. "Piper, what's going on? Who's this?" Leo had come to the door, gently pulling his arm around her waist, as if protecting her. "This is, uh..." She trailed off, having not gotten her name. "Paige. Paige Halliwell. I believe you two are my long-lost sisters." |
