Extreme magazine- Late Winter 1998
Review by Peter Romo

Vibrolux (Shoreline/Select)
Named after a Fender amplifier that was popular in the '60s, VIBROLUX has a sound somewhat reminiscent of THE STONE ROSES circa-1991 and more-so the "Lovegod" era SOUP DRAGONS. And this is a good thing as these bands helped to define the psychedelic/dance rock crossover of the early '90s before it was pushed to the wayside by grunge. On this nine song effort, VIBROLUX takes the listener om a trippy road through strong backbeats, heavy wah and dreamy, effortless vocals. The ingredients for VIBROLUX's magic are constant in their songs, each from the same breath, but all with different colors. Standout tracks include "Mind," a song built around a classic backbeat and VERVE-sih guitars and "Amaze," which has a honey coated intensity; this is a cool rock song. VIBROLUX has taken some old school ideas, reinvented them and brought them forth with a truly great independent release. VIBROLUX are sure to become a radio and dance club staple.
