This is a letter I recieved, I have stated on numerous occassions, that I do not believe in censorship. So, as not to be hypocritical, here it is.

Dear sir or madam, Let me start by stating that I have always been fascinated by paranormal activity. I do believe that there are many unanswered questions regarding the "afterlife".
I would be the last one to debunk anyone's theories or beliefs in regards to the existence of ghosts or spirits. I do however, find one aspect of paranormal investigation disturbing. The recent ( and not-so recent ) attention focused on orbs is quite troublesome.
Now I am sure that I am not going to break any new ground or shake up anyone's theories or beliefs with the statements I am about to make, but nonetheless I really need to voice my opinion on this matter.
I have watched hundreds of videos ( including my own ) and viewed scores of photographs focused on orbs as a supernatural entity as I am sure you have as well. I have been interested in photography and film/video for about 20 years now. Although I am not a professional,
I have done extensive amateur work for my current and past communities as well as work done voluntarily for my employer. Some of my video/film work has been in the form of recording high-school football games in both daylight and at night. Much of my photography has been done in the form of recreational photos and for company brochures. I have taken still pictures with both standard and digital cameras.
Having stated that, let me get to the point ( yes, I have one! Really!! ) . I just do not understand the hype over what I see as a very typical occurrence during photogography and video.
While filming football games ( especially night-games ) these "orbs" have always been present on video tape. In fact they are extremely hard to avoid. Dust particles get kicked up in the air and the luminary devices used, whether flash-bulbs or stadium lights hit them from the right angle and they are everywhere. I have always noticed that they were most abundant right around the players on the field as they kick up dust.
I have experimented further by taking random video at various locations. They are almost ALWAYS present regardless of filming in a cemetery or a shopping mall parking lot, especially at night. The same holds true using a digital camera with the exception that the condition is magnified probably ten-fold. And with the aid of the newer "Night-eye" digitals, these orbs are hard NOT TO FILM.
I have taken pictures of a dusty window sill at night using the night sight feature on my digital camera. I have then taken pictures after blowing on the sill and guess what you find? "Orbs" everywhere.
Furthermore when enlarged, many of the particles contain what could be construed as faces. Just as we have all, as children, looked at clouds and seen faces. Yes, believe it or not, magnified dust particles can exhibit facial traits as well.
I have taken many digital pictures inside my unlit home at night and have seen orbs. If you use your "Night eye", insects appear as small points of light. They even leave trails. Take your camera outside and only one thing changes. The amount of "orbs" you see is dramatically increased. This is due to insects being more abundant outside the home.
I have taken my equipment to many places and have never seen any real difference in the amount of dust particles seen. Rain and snow have the same affect with the exception of a slight bluish tint.
I must apologize for appearing negative, but the paranormal investigation communities must be holding back their most startling photographic/video evidence because ALL of the photo/video evidence I have seen to date points to dust, dewdrops, mist, rain and plain ol' bugs. In addition while visiting CNN's website and viewing images of "Ground Zero" in New York, the presence of these "orbs" are everywhere. I'm quite sure that many people would answer "Of course they are!! Five thousand people died there!!"
But I am sorry, the air at the sight is contaminated with airborne dust particles. The Ground Zero photos which exhibit the most "orbs" are the ones where visible clean-up procedures are in progress.
As previously stated, I have photographed and filmed (mostly by pure coincidence) countless orbs. Now either these areas have just happened to have been hotbeds for spirit activity or I am some kind of spiritual conduit. I do not believe either to be the case.
Please know that this letter is written with the utmost respect and that it is not my intention to ridicule anyone theories and/or beliefs.
Kindest regards,
