Perspective

Today is just an ordinary day. I've nothing to do but clean the house, prepare food and wash a pile of dirty clothes. I've nowhere to go but to the grocery store, the bank and the dry cleaners.
Dear Lord, ordinary days are so boring.

Today, I'm sitting by my husband's hospital bed again. Our house hasn't been cleaned in weeks, the children are sick of hamburgers and fries, and both hampers are overflowing with clothes. For 12 days, I've spent most of my time in this hospital. My home is becoming unknown territory.

Today, my fully recovered husband went back to work. Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of cleaning our home, preparing food for hearty appetites and washing soiled clothing. Thank You that I have time to go to the grocery store, money to take to the bank, and a husband to wear the suit I took to the cleaners.

Thank You, Lord, for the blessing of ordinary days.
