About Kuja

General info and his background story in the game!

We see Kuja for the first time at the end of disc 1, in Burmecia, where he's leaving the ruins of the city on his Silver Dragon. He is kind of a mysterious person at that time. We only know he has something to do with the attack on Burmecia.

However, while the game proceeds, we get to know more about Kuja. He was the one responsible for the Queen of Alexandria to start a war, and drawing Eidolons from the Queen's daughter, Garnet. He's also the one who kills Brahne, and attacks Alexandria not much later.

Round disc 3, we'll find out that Kuja isn't from Gaia, but from a world called Terra. And that he has a younger brother, nobody less then Zidane. We also find out about Kuja's motives. He was all the time planning to get rid of his creator, Garland.

Kuja's the first Angel of Death, the one supposed to restore Terra. However, Garland thought he was too strong, and called him a 'defect'. That's the reason he made a second Angel of Death, Zidane. However, Kuja got jealous, and dumped Zidane on Gaia.

We know now Zidane and Kuja are 'kind off' brothers. Kuja gets into 'Trance' for the first time, making him very powerfull. But when Garland reveales to Kuja that he has only a short while to live and he will never leave his mark on the world. Kuja thinks it isn't fair that the world will live without him, and destroys Terra. He seeks to destroy the Crystal - the orgin of all things. But Zidane and friends stop him.

At the end of the game, Kuja feels sorry for his actions. However, Zidane goes back into the heart of the Iifa Tree and tries to save his brother.

We later see Mikoto at the remains of the Iifa tree. She wants that Kuja's memorie will live on forever.

so in the end, he did leave his mark on the world...
