Gabriel Knight III: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned. Gabriel Knight III
by Sierra Studios

Author and creator of the Gabriel Knight series Jane Jensen has a new mystery in Gabriel Knight III: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned. Based on a real-life mystery, the game is set in a small village in France by the name of Rennes-le-Chateau. The mystery starts when Gabriel Knight and his companion Grace Nakamura are invited to the home of a dethroned royal scion of France. You are given a job once you arrive of not solving a great mystery or tackling unsurmountable odds, but of babysitting the royal scion's new infant son. This little baby becomes more of a problem than you originally anticipated however once a dark secret is revealed to you which has haunted the Prince's family for generations. Many would have the Prince's son for other means or just have him wind up dead as their are many not in particular favor of the Prince himself. Despite your efforts to guard the boy, he is kidnapped right from underneath you on the very first night you are to be watching him. Gabriel, of course, takes off after the kidnappers only to find himself lost in the little European village of Rennes-le-Chateau, and so the game (& mystery) begins.
