Answer: Athelas (Kingsfoil)(reference poem)
note from Cam: if you didn't read the books, you missed the part after the battle at Minas Tirith, where Aragorn first enters the city where he will become King, and visits the Houses of Healing. Faramir and Eowyn are both there recuperating (and later fall in love!) and Aragorn uses this herb remedy to help lots of the wounded.
