I've got some new things for you!
At the bottom of the page you will find a few Downloads from my site, as well as a couple of new links.
If you have never played Quake2 online you will need to follow the links on the left side of the page. Before you can play online at all you will need the 3.20 download.
For advice on anything Quake related go to the Q3arena.com Message Board. These guys are all brilliant and can answer any question you may have for them, usually, in under an hour.

Once you have Quake2 up and running, go to Quake Mods and download other versions of the game (they are all free).
Q pong is one of our favorite, as well as, CTF and Chaos.
The Q2 Plug was made by Idsoftware (the makers of Quake), it allows you to read the boxes at the bottom of this page. These tell you who is playing at our sites and lets you join the game without having to start up Quake from your desktop. I was hesitant to download it for a long time, but once I did I don't know how I ever lived without it. I highly recommend it. It's free and very easy to use.

Gamespy is another free download that is a "must have" if you are a regular player. It will find servers for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, rain or shine.

When you realize that most other players at Q3arena.com have much better computers than you do, you can download the Crusher demo to see how many frames per second your video card is giving you. I just bought a 16MB TNT and it drastically improved my fps. I now get about 62 fps. My neighbor with a 8MB ATI (all in wonder pro) only gets 11fps. If you have downloaded version 3.20 you can run a quick demo by pressing the ~ key and then typing timedemo 1 press enter then type map demo2.dm2 and hit enter again. If you get less than 30 fps it's time for a new video card!

The Pentium III 500Mhz chip is now out, but at $700.00 who in their right mind would buy it? If you do, what I and a thousands of other people have done, you can build your own 500Mhz computer for $600. That price includes a BH6 motherboard, Pentium Celeron 300a or 333a chip (which you can overclock to 500Mhz), a very nice computer case with a 250 or 300 Watt power supply, Zoom or US Robotics 56K modem, Soundblaster sound card, 16MB TNT video card, 40X CD-ROM, 3.5 floppy, 96 MB PC 100 SDRAM and the fans to keep it cool. I did not believe this was possible, until I built one myself. It is incredible (CNN even did a article on it).

Here is the the first Q3 skin that I have seen . Feel free to copy it and make whatever changes you want to it. Then stick it back into the "sarge" file and name it "band". Remember to convert it back into tga. Format or it will not work.

Custom crosshairs make the game much easier, you can get them here. Make sure you follow the instructions or you can screw up your pac files:) They have hundreds to choose from.
