 Foreword

  Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad Reuss

A beautiful, talented and sophisticated lady.
ABBA fans know her as Frida.
She has gone from a rough start early in life, raised alone with her grandmother,
to becoming a real- life Princess and close friend of the Swedish Royal family.
And the story that lies between these times is one of much happiness tinged with severe saddness.
There are many books about ABBA that include some details about Anni-frid.
But by far, the best one in my opinion, is "Bright Lights, Dark Shadows" written
by Carl Magnus Palm.
He gives the most in - depth look at all four members of ABBA that we may ever see.

I have gathered photo's and tried to place them in the order that they happened throughout her
life .There is a running dialouge to go with the photo's, a sort of biography.
I hope you will enjoy this site and get a sense of how special Anni-Frid is.

About her grandmother :
"My grandmother had already lost her husband, now she lost her
daughter and was stuck with me.

I wasn't even two years old when she left Norway to find a new life in Sweden.
An incredibly strong woman. She found an apartment building where she became
the caretaker so she didn't have to pay any rent.
She grew potatoes and vegetables, kept everything tidy and made all my clothes."

About her mother:
"She was beautiful and had a good singing voice, that's about all I know about her...
her mom andI sang all the time when I was a kid," she remembers.
"I was a member of the school choir and I got to sing a lot of the solos.
My first public appearance was at a Red Cross market in Torshälla.
I sang "Fjorton År Tror Jag Visst Att Jag Var", but in reality I was only nine years old.

And very pretty, at least I thought so, in my Norwegian national dress.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               I can still remember that dress in detail.
It was bright red with embrodiered flowers everywhere.
My mother's sister had made it for me."

Härjedalenis is where they moved to first, in the middle of Sweden,
and then on to Torshälla, which is part of Eskistuna.
