Contest Rules
The host and moderator "foghat61" will notify players that the contest is set to begin. In general, a song clip will be played and points will be awarded for the player who can answer the name of the group and name of the song. There are 2 points available for each song... 1 point is awarded for the person getting the name of the group the fastest and 1 point is awarded for the person getting the name of the Song the fastest.
The host will determine what IS and is NOT acceptable according to spelling and abbreviations. Here's the general rule of thumb: The host will be flexible on poor spelling.. HOWEVER, there are NO abbreviations. Instead of declaring a winner quickly, the host will look for the first PROPERLY WORDED answer... Meaning, if the fastest player typed "I butterfly"... but the second one typed "Iron Butterfly".. it would be awarded to player 2. Same goes true for song titles... it's the FIRST player to type it in correctly, as long as spelling is close....Basically, this means you take a chance by abbreviating. REMEMBER, you can guess more than once in early rounds... :)
The host will play 50 song clips in a row... 2 points are scored on each tune. The next 10 song clips up to 60 are worth double bonus points. At the end of all 60 songs, the top six scores go to SHOWDOWN. Finalists start from scratch and compete with our final Six Showdown tunes.
