Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord thy soul to keep.
For if I should wake and find you gone,
May the Lord protect you all night long.
And when you return from that dreaded night,
I alone will hold you tight.
In the waking hours while you sleep,
I pray the Lord thy hurt he keeps.
For when you wake to enjoy your day,
May the Lord make it brighter in his own way.
When the night falls once more,
And those calls begin to roar.
I pray the Lord thy safety he returns.
For when I see your face,
My heart will no longer race.
And when I hold you tight through the night,
May the Lord keep that light burning bright.
As I lay beside you dear,
The Lord alone can hear,
I Thank you Lord for seeing him here'.
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I always pray the Lord thy soul to keep.
For when I wake and find you there,
I know the Lord sure does care.
