The flames were dancing in his head
When he remembered what she said
He fought the fire with all his might
Please stay safe for me tonight
He put water on the fire with his line
The children need a dad for a long long time
Fire will be here long after i'm gone
For my kids need a dad so they don't go wrong
THE LAST RIDE
He rode the truck to his last alarm
He could feel the tears falling down
He looked back on his thirty years
All the fires and all the fears
All his days filled with rain and snow
When the alarm would ring he'd be on the go
He's seen his share of fear and sorrow
He'd do it again for one more tomorrow
No more dark rooms and no more flames
No more burns, cuts,or aches and pains
OLD FIREFIGHTERS
His physical strength was fading fast
He prayed to god to let it last
His legs were weak his sight was dim
He looked for strength from deep within
He sat on a bench across from his past
He watched as the engines raced by fast
His memories rushed by this summer day
and he longed for his youth which had faded away
As a young man he would fight the fire
With strength ,guts and burning desire
Where were the years where did they go
If you looked in his eyes you could see the glow
It would fulfill his every desire
If he could just fight one last fire
FEARLESS NIGHTS
Their is a place in all of us that is dark and deep
If you let it devour you it will make you weep
You throw out your chest and stand up tall
Then you run down to the flames and face the devil in the hall
His flames are red and his smoke is black
Its you against the devil and you must be on the attack
The devil is quick and the devil is smart
But he will never win against a firefighters heart
FATE
Help me find a frightened soul before it is to late
Help me find the child so i can steal him from his fate
When i am called to fight the flames where ever they may rage
Give me strength to save a life no matter what there age
"His Final Fire"
He came to work one summer day
thoughts of danger were far away.
He washed the truck and polished the brass.
He cleaned the floor and washed the glass.
When his work was done he pulled up a chair.
He looked out the door and started to stare.
His thoughts were broken when they sounded the alarm
little did he know of the pending harm.
As the truck raced to the fire with his heart pounding fast.
He had no idea that this was to be his last.
He could see that the smoke was thick and black.
How was he to know he would never come back.
