Recovery of the Month

The Antioch Fire & Rescue Squad was called to a report of a vehicle that had driven into Loon Lake in
Antioch Township. Firefighters arrived to find an SUV about 40 yards from shore. Divers searched the
submerged Ford Explorer and found that it was unoccupied. Wildwood Service was called to remove the
SUV from the cold lake water. Antioch FD Divers assisted the Wildwood Service crews with attaching the
straps and chains. The SUV was removed from the water and loaded on a flatbed. The Lake County
Sheriff Department found that the Explorer had been stolen about an hour earlier.
