Driver of car falls asleep and hits semi head-on south of Fox Lake.

The driver of a car fell asleep and struck a tractor-trailer dump truck head on near
Baxtor Lab on Rt. 120 causing the semi to jack knife into a utility pole. Fox Lake firefighters performed heavy extrication to free the driver from the badly damaged car. The driver was then air lifted by Flight For Life to Lutheran General Hospital. |

A car heading south on Rt.12 at a high rate of speed attempted to pass two lanes
of southbound traffic, lost control and hit a northbound vehicle head on. Both cars received very heavy damage. Fox Lake firefighters extricated the passenger of the black Honda who received serious injuries. Both drivers were also transported by Fox Lake FD to NIMC. |
