A fire in a bedroom caused an oxygen tank used by a sick resident to explode
moments before the Round Lake Fire Protection District arrived on the scene.
Crews from Engine Company 2622 arrived to find heavy fire blowing out the
side and rear windows of the two story home. 2622 dropped a supply line and
continued down the dead end street were it's crew pulled a line to make there
interior attack. RLFPD Chief 2600 arrived along with 2624 which hooked up to
2622's supply line and a hydrant and supplied water to 2622. Pumper/Squad
2651 and Tower 2630 arrived and assisted with the attack which was well
involved. Grayslake Engine 2721 arrived and assisted with exterior attacks.
The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries. The Fox Lake FD & Lake
Villa Rescue Squad provided change of quarters.
