The Lake Villa Fire Department received a 911 call from a homeowner that reported smoke
in there house. When the first Lake Villa Engine (2420) arrived they found the entire back of the home fully involved with fire moving towards the front. Next to arrive was Truck Company 2430 and Pumper/Squad 2421. There crews assisted with knocking down much of the fire. Even with most of the fire knocked, heavy smoke continued to blow from the home. Fire was found in several void areas of the home, making it hard to extinguish the blaze. |

The Fox Lake Fire Department received a 911 call that fire was visible from a home that an
elderly woman lived in. The Fox Lake Chief (2200) was the first to arrive and reported fire blowing out the front window of the home. He was quickly advised that the owner of the home was still inside. Pumper/Tanker 2264 arrived and quickly pulled an attack line and prepared to enter through the front door. As the crew forced the door open the doorway flashed. The attack crew knocked the fire down at the front entrance and much of the living room, where the victim was found on the floor. The attack crew pulled the woman outside where the second-in crew met them, taking over the rescue. The 90 year old victim was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. A Round Lake FD Engine Company (2622) along with a Fox Lake Squad (2251), Engine (2223) and Pumper/Tanker (2262) Companies assisted with extinguishing the rest of the home, which had heavy fire damage through out the structure.
