Fox Lake Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire at a large Condo
complex. FLFD Engine 2222 arrived and reported smoke coming from one of the condos and
pulled an attack line. FLFD Assist Chief arrived (taking command) along with Engine 2223 & Tower
2231. The Truck Company started ventilation while the Engine crews quickly knocked down the
main fire. Round Lake FD Engine 2622 arrived (automatic response area) and assisted the Fox
Lake crews. With ventilation completed, smoke continued to pour from the building. Interior crews
found that the fire had gotten into the walls and traveled to a 2nd Condo. With this news,
Command pulled a box alarm that dispatched the following units to the scene:

-Round Lake FD with a Tower to the scene

-Antioch FD with a Engine, Squad & Rehab Unit

-Wauconda FD with a Engine

-Spring Grove FPD with a Squad

-Gurnee FD with a Squad

-Grayslake FD with a Engine

-Wilmont (WI) FD with a Squad

-Lake Villa FD with a Truck

-Newport FPD with a Engine

-Countryside FPD with a Engine

The walls were opened up and the fire was confined to a small area, saving the other Condo units.

The owners of a one-story ranch were lucky to be alive after they escaped from there burning
home but not before trying to safe there family pets. The FLFD Assist Chief was the first to
arrive reporting heavy smoke & fire coming from the front door and living room. FLFD Pumper /
Tanker 2262 arrived and made an attack through the front door. Engine 2223 & Squad 2251
arrived and assisted with the attack and knockdown of the fire. Round Lake FD 2622 arrived
and performed ventilation on the roof. Firefighters saved many of the pets.

A 911 call reported smoke in a hotel room turned out to be a fully involved hotel room when
firefighters arrived. Fox Lake Engine 2222 arrived to find a 2 story building with hotel rooms
on the 2nd floor and a restaurant on the 1st floor that had fire blowing out of one of the rooms
and the hotel sign burning. With Round Lake FD Tower 2630 enroute, Fox Lakes Engines
2224, 2223 & 2232 arrived and the fire was quickly extinguished. Command was set up with
the FLFD Assist Chief inside FLFD Squad 2251.
