Provisionals Not True to the Cause
Editor:
The Irish Freedom Committee joins in the condemnation
of those who, in the cold-blooded murder of Joe O'Connor of Ballymurphy,
have shattered the lives of his young wife and their three children. Since
eyewitnesses have identified the killers as Provisionals, we can only assume
that these new Stormont troopers, who are being used to enforce their masters'
backing of continued British misrule, are emulating the atrocities perpetuated
in their day by the likes of Michael Collins and Eamonn De Valera. We concur
in a statement attributed to Marion Price, that these former republicans
who have signed on to the Stormont agreement have committed "a blatant
and disgraceful sell-out of every principle and belief which genuine republicans
hold dearly." Our organization will continue assisting families of unbought
republican prisoners who remain true to the only true government of Ireland,
that of 1919.
