RAINBOW WAY-STATION

will be closed until Mid-July, 2008.
Make arrangements now if you would like to visit after that time.

The Rainbow Way-station is on three acres of undeveloped
land deep in the Hawaiian rainforest. Located 3 - 5 miles
off the main highway, a vehicle is recommended. I have walked it,
but it's not fun with a heavy load. Due to the small size of the
land, space is limited. Rainforest means rain, and rain means
rainbows, so come prepared. There is no budget for paid labor,
but work / camp space exchange is possible. Or rent a space and
take it easy! We can always use some green energy here.

The intent is to form a very small core group, having space left
over for visitors and travelers. There are a number of pet
projects on our wish list which include...

  • Rental campsites
  • Infastructure improvements - water catchment, sanitation, solar
  • Alternative energy development
  • Permaculture / Organic farming
  • cottage industry development
  • Rideshare transportation
  • Family buying neighboring parcels
  • A botanical garden in the form of a jungle maze
  • And much, much more!!!
  • There is no water source except what you catch from rainfall.
And it may not be suitable for drinking. Firewood may not be
in abundance and is often to wet to burn, so a campstove
is a good idea. Bring food, Drinking water, tents, tarps, etc.
Flashlights, candles, and warm clothes for night time are also advised.

This project is still in its beginning stages. The trails
are rugged, unleveled and muddy at times. There are crevices
that small (or large) children could fall into. For this reason,
it would not be recommended to bring young children at this time.
Pets are required to go through quarantine upon arriving on Hawaii.
As we would wish to avoid being over run by large numbers of
animals in such a small location, if you have any alternative
to bringing your pets with you please do take advantage of those.
We do have "camp" cats to help control the rodent population.
As we grow and expand these guidelines can be revised to suit
the situation. If you find yourself with no alternatives,
let us know and we will see what can be done.

We recommend requesting reservations at least
a month or two in advance via Snail-Mail. send your INFO to:
