I have received a few e-mails about Dean on "Last Call". So let me try to clarify to the best of my knowledge, Dean Winters supposedly will be a guest on "Last Call with Carson Daly" on September 12th. However, "Last Call with Carson Daly" tapes then shows it about a week later. So, it will NOT be shown on September 12th! Also, I have been e-mailed that "Last Call" tapes 2 shows a day. If you are going, make sure you are going to the correct taping. If you want to know how to get tickets to the show, just scroll down a bit. I have the info on the site.

I also received an e-mail that claims that the movie "Snipes" will be released this week or very soon.

I live in New York. I was in school when I heard about the tragedy. My professor was shaking as she told us the news. I have family members that worked in and by the World Trade Center. They are thankfully ok. However, some of my friends' loved ones are still missing. I hope that all of you and your loved ones are safe. My heart and sympathy goes out to everyone.

Nelly Hip Hops
Over to Movies

By DENENE MILLNER
Daily News Feature Writer
Nelly, the rapper whose debut album is nesting at the top of the Billboard charts, is getting his Hollywood closeup. He's been tapped to star in the urban thriller "Snipes" as a hip-hop artist kidnapped on the eve of his big album's release.
"Snipes" is also a coming-out for RuffNation Films, the movie arm of Chris Schwartz' RuffWorld Entertainment, which includes a successful hip-hop label that's home to top-selling rappers Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, the Fugees and Cypress Hill.
Schwartz says he picked Nelly to star in "Snipes" because the Louisana-born rapper, whose debut album "Country Grammar" has topped the Billboard 200 for five straight weeks, has strong appeal to both underground rap enthusiasts and mainstream audiences.
"On camera and performing on stage and on his records, he comes across," Schwartz says.
Nelly follows in the footsteps of several high-profile rappers who made the switch to the big screen. Most notable, and successful, are Will Smith, aka Fresh Prince, and James Todd Smith, better known as LL Cool J.
Others who have made the leap haven't fared as well ??cluding DMX, Nas and the Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man, all who starred in last year's urban flop "Belly."
Schwartz insists that Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes Jr., can act. "He read for the part, and we were pleasantly surprised that he actually has acting chops," Schwartz says.
"Snipes," he adds, isn't "a typical hip-hop film where we came up with a story for an excuse to put a bunch of rappers on film and sell a good soundtrack.
"This started with a story. We've been developing this for 2 1/2 years. We have real actors ??very strong cast."
Starring alongside Nelly will be Dean Winters ("Oz") and Mpho Koaho ("Down in the Delta"). Rappers Fat Jo, Kool Mo Dee and Schooly D. make cameo appearances.

RAPPER NELLY TO STAR IN HIP-HOP FILM

Rapper NELLY will make his feature film acting debut in the urban thriller SNIPES as a hip-hop artist kidnapped on the eve of his album's highly anticipated debut. The project is set to begin filming on 2 October (00) in Philadelphia with a budget said to be less than $10 million. DEAN WINTERS, MPHO KOAHO and newcomer SAM JONES are featured in Snipes, which will include cameos by rappers FAT JOE, KOOL MOE DEE and SCHOOLLY D.

The film is the first feature project for CHRIS SCHWARTZ'S RUFFNATION FILMS, the feature film arm of his RUFFWORLD ENTERTAINMENT, which includes the influential hip-hop label RUFFHOUSE RECORDS. RuffHouse has been home to such acts as LAURYN HILL, WYCLEF JEAN, THE FUGEES, KRIS KROSS and CYPRESS HILL. Nelly's debut album COUNTRY GRAMMAR has topped the Billboard 200 for five straight weeks.

'SVU' Star Returning
To the Land of 'Oz'

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," which is moving from Monday nights at 9 to Friday nights at 10 next month, is losing a cast member, the drama's production company, Studios USA, confirms.
Recurring star Dean Winters, who plays Detective Brian Cassidy, is leaving the series to return to the cast of HBO's prison drama "Oz" when it goes back into production in February.
Another "SVU" star, Christopher Meloni (Detective Elliot Stabler), is also in "Oz," but his character, inmate Chris Keller, does not appear in every episode. Winters' "Oz" character," inmate and obsessed lover Ryan O'Reilly, is considered too important to shuttle from one production to another.
Winters' departure leaves Cassidy's partner, Detective John Munch, looking for a workmate. Munch (Richard Belzer) is likely to receive some extra script attention as he changes partners.

Dean Winters To Leave Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
(reprinted from Ultimate TV.com)
LOS ANGELES (UltimateTV.com) - Studios USA has confirmed that there is a cast change afoot for its NBC Monday-night drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (moving to Friday nights as of January 7). Recurring star Dean Winters, who plays Detective Brian Cassidy, is departing the series midway through the season.
Like his L&O:SVU co-star, Christopher Meloni, who plays Detective Elliot Stabler, Winters is also in the cast of HBO's hard-hitting prison drama Oz, which goes back into production on its fourth season in February. But unlike Meloni, whose Oz character, inmate Chris Keller, is considered recurring, Winters' character, inmate Ryan O'Reily, is just too important to too many upcoming Oz plotlines for HBO to allow him to split his time between the two series, even though both are shot in New York City.
Winters' last "L&O:SVU" episode will likely air early in 2000.
This, of course, leaves Cassidy's partner, Detective John Munch, played by Richard Belzer, high and dry. The character was brought over to L&O:SVU from Homicide: Life on the Street, and many feel that there has not been enough Munch in his new series. It looks as if Studios USA has heard this complaint, and plans are underway for more Munch in the future. Also likely to have an increased role is Michelle Hurd, who plays Detective Monique Jeffries.

New Workload For Wizard of Oz
Just when the cast members of Oz thought they were out, HBO pulls them back in. We've been seeing the actors on the hit series enjoying themselves at just about every party in town for the past few weeks, since they recently wrapped production for the season. So it was odd to catch Dean Winters attempting to flee last week's Nautica Jeans shindig at Luahn just when things were starting to get good. "I have to be at work at eight in the morning," said the usually hard-charging Winters. "We have to shoot eight more episodes over the summer." The show's creator, Tom Fontana, wasn't at all put out by the news. Fontana joked that Sopranos producer and creator David Chase would never have taken the bait and worked over the summer: "David won't just churn stuff out -- he's an artist." The gregarious Fontana said that when he got the call for another batch of episodes, "they said, 'Could you -- ' and I screamed, 'Yes!' They didn't even finish the sentence. David Chase is Tiffany's and I'm Wal-Mart. Just bring the truck around and I'll load it up." Didn't Faulkner say that?

Dean Winters: Rollin' With the Homies
Any old celebrity can hang around in his trailer, but only Oz star Dean Winters can do it with a couple of reefer-toking homeless guys. After an evening filming his upcoming hip-hop flick, Snipes, Winters tells us, he returned to his "honey wagon" on the mean streets of Philadelphia only to find a pair of uninvited guests. "These two homeless guys were sitting in my trailer smoking pot and drinking forties," Winters recalls. "They were just like, 'Hope you don't mind.' " Of course, the known party boy didn't bat a lid. "I told them, 'Hey, no problem,' and ended up hanging out with these guys for, like, two hours." Snipes also gave Winters the opportunity to chill with rap sensation Nelly as well as past master Schooly D, his two co-stars. While Winters enjoyed working with the hip-hoppers, there was one problem: "You know these fucking rappers," he says. "They're always late. We'd be having lunch, and I'd say, 'Yo, Schooly, we've got to get back to the set.' But when we'd get back late, everyone would yell at me." Guess the white guy always has to take the rap.

From marksfriggin.com Howard Stern recap site:
Ralph's Playboy Party Story. 4/13/00. 9:40am
Howard got his buddy Ralph on the phone to talk about his night out at the Playboy party last night. He kept it short so as not to piss off too many people. Ralph said the party was pretty cool and it got progressively better as the night went on. He didn't get laid at the party but he got to see a lot of hot Playboy models. He hung out with actor Dean Winters from ''Oz''. Ralph said the hottest chick there was Playmate of the year Heather Kosar. There were also some women wearing nothing but body paint walking around. After the party he and Dean went out to some clubs. He said that Dean knows the right clubs to go to. Ralph told Howard that he did get a little action at the end of the night. He drove some chick home from a club and she gave him oral in the back of his Jeep. That's the same place he puked in not too long ago. He said he got her number but he won't be calling her back. He said she wasn't that hot. She was okay looking at 3 in the morning but he doesn't want to see her again.
