God said; "I ORDERED THIS STORY ENDED. BUFFY SUMMERS AND THE
VAMPIRE TURNED VAMPIRE SLAYER KNOWN AS ANGEL DID NOT
DILERBERATLY DISOBEY. THIS WAS A PRIVATE CONVERSATION. WHEN I
SPOKE TO THE WATCHER COUNCIL I TOLD GAVE THE ORDER TO
RENDER ANGEL WATCHER OF BUFFY. GILES IS THEIR NEW LEADER".
Angel inadvertently restarted this having Buff watch the Twilight Zone by Rod
Serving. The episode is the Obsolete Man.
"You walk into this room at your own risk. For it leads to the future. Not a future
that will be. But a future that might be"; said the television.
"Why do you make me watch this?" asked Buff.
"Two reasons one I want you to play ordinary teenager. The fact that you are two
years above that not withstanding":Angel enjoyed watching Buff smile.
"Secondly it is a good way to begin this conversation. So watch!" ordered Angel.
After Serving gave his moral speech. Angel said; "Buffy under different and never
established rules I accuse you of Obsolesce."
Buff said; "What do you mean?"
Angel said "Since there is one Vampire not counting that one I change into every
Wednesday night and because the force of Hell on Earth are dependant on Vampires there
is very little call for the services of a Slayer of Vampires. But unlike that State we do not
fear education. I submit that without transferring to a better College you will be obsolete.
"So you want me to transfer to another College?" smiled Buff.
"Yes and make it Ivy League!" answer Angel.
"That is only the most important part. I want you to spend the summer as a
teenager. I know you are older! But it has always grieved me that you did not have that!
Here you are in the twentieth century and you have not watched enough TV There also
the matter of thinking ‘start thinking of yourself as a Semi-retired.Slayer!’"
Buff smiled at all this she said;"I will talk with Gills and mother! "
Gills Said "What if some supernatural force should..."
Angel interrupted "Any supernatural force shall discover that the Hellmouth is
deactivated. Then when they try to open the Hellmouth a small explosion of chemicals
shall destroy them! Said explosion shall effect only the supernatural. It shall not
smaller than your library room."
Buff said "So the Slayer is obsolete."
Angel said "It is possible to be a Slayer without something without a soul yet in
the semblance of life to slay. But it is anachronism. But all the college student has to do is
get into a better college and you are not!"
Buff smiled "OK you have convinced me. It will take two weeks to get the new
applications out."
"What of the vacation? I would have both the pleasure of your company and you
have your lost youth".
"I cannot afford it." said Buff.
"Did Gills tell you?" asked Angel.
"Tell me what?" asked Buff.
"I'm a published author. Under the pen name Robert Angel. My book is a best
seller! . But I wanted Gills to confirm it was not about Vampires. I can support you in
half the style you deserve. But there is enough for a vacation! Plus investment and
Taxes! "Angel enjoyed watching Buff’s face! Delight, surprise, pride and flattered was all
over it!"
The next afternoon Angel met with Travers. They greeted each other in the library
of the Sunnydale High School.
Angel asked "How did the Brazilian Slayer’s Cruciamentum go."
Travers replied "We never even rendered her powerless. I do not know what
we shall do."
Angel said "I urge you to do nothing. The War is over."
Travers mused "There are no vampires. But there are other demons. "
Angel predicted "They will stay in hiding except when they must act. This will
happen. But without knowledge in time what do you hope they will accomplish. If they
not
learn before a certain time neither the innocent shall be saved nor villain destroyed."
Travers wondered "How often will It happen that we can do anything?"
Angel concluded "A single digit number of times per Slayer per year until the
answer to a question is discovered!"
"What question?"
'At an age in which no slayer has ever lived before does the Slayer trigger the
next Slayer without dying? If the answer is yes you will find me an opponent of Buffy
taking more than nine cases per decade."
'You would oppose her divine calling?'
'Without active evil what divine calling?"
Angel asked "Will you tell me when and if it happens?"
Travers said "Hard to refuse the man who ended the War in victory."
Then Travers asked; "Who gave you the machine?"
"It was designed by someone code named Dr. Iblis, created by William Rodgers
and
given to me. The Coordinator of the effort was Drax the Specter."
"But that creature is crazy!"
"Not compared to Vampires."
Three hours later Angle told Buffy of the conversation. She asks:"Did this Dr. Iblis
say there was such an age?"
"I never met him. He was just a code name to me."
I Anthony Knight would like the answer to three questions. Please use Buffy the

1)The first question: If you do not like it I would like to know why! Being human I
would prefer a favorable response. But I would settle for any decent comment.
2)Second would you like the result of the battle of Shanshu to be the same as this? Only a
presumably better way to reach the same conclusion?
3)Would you like Joss Wedon to base his movies on the Angel vs. Travers conversation? I
mean Angel’s estimate of how many times a similar to the War but not the War.
