This set of robes belongs to an apprentice, differing in style from the Q in color and design. The O robe is a lighter russet brown in color, and the tunics are a creamy color. The tunic length is shorter, and the tabard only hangs below the belt in the front. For Episode 1 "Apprentice" tunics, I use an eggshell or vanilla colored linen fabric for both under and outer tunic, while Episode 2 "Knight" style tunics are white and natural linen, with the white as the undertunic for a contrast.
I have learned through JediVic that the original Obi-Wan costume was made of a material called Indian Homespun. However, this material appears to be just as elusive as ever despite knowing its name. Walking into an Indian store and saying "homespun" is like walking into a fabric store and saying "cotton." There is at this time no plan to offer Indian Homespun as an alternative to linen. However, I am always open to working with any fabric you find and like and want to send me.
For more information about this style of robes, and the brainstorming that went into identifying the difference between Episode I and Episode II styled costumes (there isn't much, just the color), check this out.
Here is the completed set of Episode II-style "O" robes I did for JediVic, who was kind enough to send me this lovely shot. He makes them look good!
