It seems today to be a common practice among so-called Protestants to try to water down the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ so it can include cults like the Roman Catholics. These ecumenical groups have no right being called "Protestants" for what do they protest against? Are they protesting against false religions and sin? NO! They are compromising.
At best these groups could be called Compromisers or Roman Protestants. The reformers, doctrinally in error or not, are probably in the spin cycle in their graves right now! The very bondage and false religion that over 200,000,000 people were killed by, the Compromisers want to embrace. It would be fine if the Roman Catholic Church had become a Christian Church, but rather than doing that, it grows farther from ever being anything but a cult every single day.
I am sure that the Roman Protestants will get their way overall, and thus the vast majority of professed Christians will plunge into the sinful river of the abominations of the Roman Catholic Church. This trend has produced these Roman Protestants whose only goal is to compromise until the Roman cult is accepted as legitimate Christianity.
How can so many people be deceived into thinking that Romanism is correct? It is because many are not seeking God. They are seeking a religion that makes them feel good and does not require holiness (just cheap grace, also like many supposed Protestants). Then instead of obeying God's commands, they wind up obeying man's commands which are opposite of those of the Almighty Lord of the Universe.
True believers need to separate from all ecumenical groups and be separate from such wickedness (2 Cor. 6:14-17). The Lord commands that we come out of the Roman Catholic Church in Revelation 18:4 where she is symbolized by "MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH" (Revelation 17:5).
Why would any Christians want to be a part of what God calls the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth?! Any true believer would know to avoid the false church of Romanism, but the apostates and backsliders that make up the ecumenical movement want to join with her. Yet, God's word says, "What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body?" (1 Corinthians 6:16).
It is your choice. You can choice to be a part of the body of the harlot (Roman Catholicism) or the body of Christ (Biblical Christianity). Your eternal destiny will be decided by whether you choose to join with the harlot or join to the Lord.
